3 ★It works ok but to copy and paste it only grabs the whole post and not just parts of it. Also if you do a address impeded in the message you can't do that automatically. Lastly the logos are too cumbersome and not super clean and easy. Generally ok other than that as I like the auto response feature but I wish it had a more custom ability to make your own.
2 ★The user shouldn't have to go through multiple steps to send a text. It should be just type and press send, but instead it gives you the spinning wheel of death or the little stop watch, and then you have to hold down on the text and press "switch to SMS" to send a text. Disappointing 😞 please fix this in your next update, I can't take it.
1 ★App constantly crashes, even with it closed. Literally every few seconds. Update doesn't allow dark mode. HATE having to select that I'm doing a "group" message instead of just adding a person. App used to be fine. Gets worse with every update.... In response to Google trying to help. Thanks for actually reading reviews. But you're wrong. Dark mode is not just an android setting. Not on my phone at least. And your app used to have its OWN setting for it. Now it doesn't. It's just stark white
1 ★Since just before the last security update for my pixel 8 pro, the messages app keeps force closing itself after every message I send out, even when I get an incoming message while I'm on the app. I also no longer get notifications. And before this, it wouldn't send a notification for my priority contacts. I'm really close to finding an alternative app to use until this gets looked into. ETA2: The help section did nothing to help this situation. I even posted on the forum.
4 ★I don't like how it integrates with my phone or how efficient it is. It has more issues using RCS than sms/mms, but somehow they both stop working about 10% of the time. Regardless of carrier. I need to reboot my device to get them sending messages again. I've used messages since two phones ago, but it doesn't feel like textra yet. Once they get RCS support, I am switching back.
1 ★I understand the concept but not happy with this new update. I can't see non of my picture messages or any of my group messages. I keep getting "message has expired or not available". I use my phone a lot for work and have missed a lot of important details due to this app or the update or whatever Google is doing. It's super annoying and frustrating.
1 ★I don't like the fact that the UI. I can't even type this correctly right now b.c of the issue. Decided to change my second keyboard to a number pad instead of alternate characters in the keyboard and I can't find a clear way to reverse this issue. Frustrating and it is the default keyboard on Google phones, trash. My experience with the pixel 7 pro has been abysmal to say the least. Best macro camera. But it dose not focus on macro shots and alternates to the background...... Point and click.
1 ★I've had a Google phone since 2017 - this is the first time I've actually contemplated using a different messaging app. The amount of lag for my texts to send is literally minutes at this point. It's absolutely outrageous 😡 Update: While lag is *mostly* fixed I'm still running into issues left and right. Once they fix one thing another issue pops up. Text messages are disappearing at least once if not multiple times a day. I'm very much over this nonsense.
3 ★This used to be my favorite messaging app. However, in recent months, RCS messaging fails to send, and I don't receive messages from family and friends. I've tried multiple troubleshooting methods and it fixes it for a day and then starts back again. Several people in my circle are experiencing the same thing, so I know it's not just a me thing! Please get this fixed!
2 ★I love that I can use Bitmoji and other emojis as well as stickers, etc, "Like" a message with an emoji. Hate that Scheduled Message feature does not work (yes, I've double checked the date and time), can't add people to a group without creating a new group, can't remove someone from group, RCS doesn't apply to all contacts, can't recall messages, used to be able to send video of 10 seconds or less but not anymore.
1 ★Contact Favorites no longer appear at the top of the Contacts listing when addressing new text message. This is totally inconvenient! Please, This needs to be fixed ASAP! (1)Tried Google's suggestions per Developer's response and it did not solve the problem. (2) Tried that, still same problem. (1/7/2024) sending messages timely is unpredictable. If this keeps up I will seriously need to consider abandoning app.
2 ★How the hell does someone accumulate 368 MB of data for simple short texting. As usual new update.., new problems. About 1/3 of my texts refuse to send. It takes ereasing or re-writing message for it to travel. Today I was forced to delete all data, and that just messed up things even more. Google insisted their app was needed in place of my native Motorola app. GREAT!
