Threema is designed from the ground up to generate as little data on servers as possible. Group memberships and contact lists are managed on your device only and never stored on our servers. Messages are immediately deleted after they have been delivered. Local files are stored encrypted on your mobile phone or tablet. All this effectively prevents the collection and misuse of your personal information, including metadata. Threema is fully compliant with the European privacy legislation (GDPR).
ROCK-SOLID ENCRYPTION
Threema end-to-end encrypts all your communication, including messages, voice and video calls, group chats, files, and even status messages. Only the intended recipient, and nobody else, can read your messages. Threema uses the trusted open source NaCl cryptography library for encryption. The encryption keys are generated and safely stored on the users’ devices to prevent backdoor access or copies.

1 ★Great idea, but there's no way that I'm going to be able to get family and friends to switch from their current apps just to meet my privacy concerns.
3 ★They made a change which forces all text messages to be condensed. You have to tap a button that says "read on" which will allow you to read that one message in full. You must then condense that message again to see any other message. Would be great if this feature was made optional so we could disable and just see the full text of every message.

5 ★Great app!!! Does what it says, and does it reliably. No stupid ads. No nonsense. Simple, and Straight forward. Way better than other private messaging apps that i have tried in the past... Definitely worth the small fee... I am impressed...
5 ★Love this app and what it does, but it's so difficult to convince people to use APKs to install if you buy this for them. It sounds silly I know. But being able to gift on Android would solve so much in spreading this 🙁 5 stars - I can't fault Threema for Google Play not supporting gifting paid apps.
1 ★Strangely not working? The app is amazing and well worth the money... But for some strange reason it's just completely stopped working. It can not establish a connection anymore. Sad if I had to find a new app because I really love using this one 😔

Long distance calling (Latin America+US to Europe) is w/o comparison, just crystal clear and no drops ever, and being able to send in original quality is prime for artists. Yes, still hoping for a (retroactive? 🤯) disappearing message feature (just add it with a security disclaimer) and the ability to give messages in group chats a thumbs up/down (we're all busy and it'd be just the right level of feedback sometimes). Keep up the good work!!
5 ★New Sending Sound Hello there, I noticed, that since I updated the Threema App, today (I'm on Android.), there's a new sound when sending messages. I really dislike this new sound, and therefore wanted to change to the old one, but I couldn't find an option for it. There's only an option to disable this sound completely. Do you have any solution to change it back? Thanks in advance
5 ★This is the best messaging app ever. The most secure platform there ever. I have few suggestions.. Please elaborate. 1. Please consider adding stickers in chat. Like animated stickers. Without these, chat is boring sometimes. Stickers are one of the best thing. 2. If you can add global search, it will be best. (by title only) 3. Photos should have option to send original or compressed. 4. Add more and more features in upcoming update (while streamlining previous features.). Thank you.

4 ★I've got notification today on Samsung S20 that Threema is requiring access to Threema account. Combined with fact that I neither used nor launched Threema for weeks it seems suspicious. If this is change in architecture of the software users should be notified before such permission requests as your users may also be afraid of state actors which could be in position to substitute binary with other.
