Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★For the past week or so, the Home app "presence sensing" has stopped working. It seems to think I'm using the presence sensing on some other phone, but still doesn't work even when I tell it to "use this phone". So now our Nest Thermostat feature that sets the thermostat back when all of us leave no longer works. And as an added bonus, I need to reboot my phone every time I return home so it reconnects to our Wi-Fi network. Way to go Google!!
1 ★When I first started using Google Home it was amazing because you could set different reminders for yourself and it has a routine feature, so you can set up great alarms and different automations to go along with it making the overall experience enjoyable... Until you want to undo or delete a routine that you have already set. For whatever reason there's no way to undo anything or delete anything once you set it in place I don't think Google thought this through. Especially with the new update.
1 ★I keep trying to access the "device settings" for my chromecast, and it takes me to a blank screen with a back button. No settings load. I have already tried reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, I even tried factory resetting my chromecast. The response from Google to try these things is just an excuse for their software products being buggy and poorly written. If it's not directly costing them money, they won't fix it. Attn Google: are you actually reading my review? The fixes don't work
1 ★Usually doesn't recognize Wi-Fi points when I'm setting them up, so I just have to try over and over again with a confusing app experience. Won't share password with new Chromecast and so I have to cancel setup and go back to the Wi-Fi settings to find it then, when I do that, it suggests disabling AP mode to make WiFi work, even though I'm using mesh, which doesn't have that mode. Renaming node requires a factory reset and no custom names on older units. You guys need to eat your own dog food.
3 ★When viewing cameras, the volume control adjusts call volume instead of media volume. Not sure how to change this. Also, when viewing cameras i would prefer that the app not put my phone into "call" mode. It's annoying to change the volume and when connected to my car bluetooth doesn't "hang up" when I'm done looking at my camera, which prevents audio from continuing being played on my car radio. I have to force the app to close to continue listening to the radio.
1 ★Edit: down to 1 star. I have routines that I updated and the changes aren't reflected when they run. Even though the routine shows to be correct. I would love it if it worked better. Routines don't always work. Sometimes trying to open one gives you a 404 error. Modifying a personal routine under yourself (the ones you can't delete) affects the same named routine on other household members. It's frustrating. Let us delete any and all routines. Make them all separate so they don't interfere.
1 ★Google Home is junk. It is worse than a beta version. Go with Amazon speakers The last update removed much functionality. No longer greets me by name, automations activated on speakers no longer work on my phone (eg, turn off do not disturb) Household and personal automations have completely different functions...many more. Creating automations is tedious. Many functions such as timers are inhibited for what Google call safety reasons. 500 characters is not enough to list everything .
3 ★The WiFi management experience is easily the worst I've ever used. Worse than a ten year old router web interface. Unreliable, hard to do simple tasks. Setting reserved IPs is miserable and slow. Edit: they have fixed my main complaints now. It's much easier to "Pin" an IP, and it doesn't time out when loading a screens anymore. Thanks dev team! I wish there would be a web app hosted on the router IP like industry standard though.
1 ★Too many times, it doesn't work. Tried everything suggested and more. Took 12 attempts (searching between attempts for suggestions to resolve failure) before connection was established. The software doesn't report what the error is, so the user just has to keep guessing about what might possibly be happening. Re last response, it isn't helpful to repeat advice, when the advice has been followed and did not resolve issues. The help document is not helpful.
4 ★Most of the app seems functional now and features are slowly but enjoyably growing. Currently the only issue I'm really experiencing is the cameras that I have placed on the favorite tab takes a very long time to show footage (stays blurry) if anything shows up at all. One camera is from a Google camera. The other is from Wyze. Most of the time the Wyze camera fails in the Home app. When I go to it's own app it was working properly.
1 ★So many problems, and they don't know how to fix them. If using the speakers for calming sounds at night, the speakers make loud popping sounds that will wake you up when you are trying to sleep. Also, when telling the speaker closest to me to do something, the speaker three rooms away will do what I requested. It's like you have to whisper to the closet speaker so the others don't hear me. I set up my morning wake up alarm and the next morning I got "sorry I don't understand" as my alarm.
1 ★You messed up everything in settings, and the speakers have changed commands. I try and set an alarm now for the morning, it asks me date and time now, and still messes up time. It also took away announcements from my voice changing them to Google voice. What the hell did this accomplish. It's slow to announce as well. I'll just get a regular alarm now. 5 years no problem and some idiot "improved" it....
