1 ★Works with wifi but I recently bought the sim card and it installed with no problem but am I misunderstanding something? It said free service. "TextNow is the only app that offers free nationwide cellular service supported by ads. Just buy a SIM Activation kit to get started. Service without wifi". I am not able to use the service unless there's wifi. So why did I buy the SIM Activation kit? It the SIM Activation kit you advertise.
1 ★I would rate this negative 5 stars if I could. Even if you are a paying customer, one day your texts will just silently fail and you won't know until you reach out to TextNow support, which they hide the link to unless it's during certain business hours. Then they'll tell you your texts are caught in their spam filter and waste 2 hours of your time to jump through hoops and send them screenshots, reinstall the app, and send them test text messages THEN still have the audacity to tell you they need you to stay on chat to complete more troubleshooting even though they already know it's their spam filter blocking my texts. I'm not your paid QA. Find your own employees to do hours of troubleshooting with.
1 ★This app is really irritating because of all the ads. I will be in the middle of a call and suddenly an ad will appear. Also it seems really buggy. Overall, my one star would easily be a four star if they just got rid of all the ads.
1 ★The app was very useful; but suddenly I am no longer able to login in the app nor the webpage. I even paid for a year of my phone number, yet I cannot get support. Such a disappointment. The forgot password option does not work, I do not get any email. I'm not able to log in yet
5 ★Awesome!! I have loved this app as I am disabled with no income. Now I cannot make or recieve calls and have attempted to contact text now several times with live chat...no one shows to chat. Cannot call anyone. Fix my phone # please!! AND THEY DID...SEE THIS APP IS FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much!!
5 ★I've never had any bad issue with the free version of text now. Thanks for the help when I became a young widow in 2017 and couldn't afford a cell on a plan at all. Never needed credits or hardly ever lost my call or signal in a few years with you. I'm keeping as a spare cell number . God bless you guys. 07/04/2021.
1 ★This app is spying your personal information look at their term, in their term and condition they mentioned that they have right to read the contents of your messages and your phone calls that you make using textnow and even they have right to communicate your personal data to government entities and any third parties. So before using this free service be aware their term and conditions.
1 ★All of a sudden, I can't make or recieve calls!! My work has tried calling me multiple times, and when I answer the phone it says "connecting" without EVER connecting. I always have strong internet connection when trying to make calls. I can still text, but it doesn't help me when work tries calling, or I get call backs from applications I've sent out. I payed to lock in my number, and it mysteriously stopped letting me make calls!! I'm switching to another app. Awful.
4 ★Had a really good experience for some years now. Now.... No one can hear me when I call them or when they call me. Sad, I really liked them. Fixed problem by trouble shooting. Deleted app, restarted my phone, and reinstalled app and it magically came back.
3 ★Textnow app is logging me out several times in the last few days. Now when i try to log back in, it tells me my password is incorrect and says it will email me a link to reset it. I never get the email. Cant get ahold of any customer service. Im not making a new account, so whats up?
5 ★Not a bad app. Have had subscription for some time now. Lately, it has been randomly logging me out and the call quality has been bad. Also, I wanted to switch the Google Play account that I use to pay for my subscription and unfortunately you are locked in once you sign up. There really needs to be an option to be able to update payment account when needed. Also, they never respond to emails. Early on, customer service was great, now it seems nonexistent.
1 ★Don't type a really really long text. 500 characters+?? . My recent version crashed and erased 500+(?) character message for typing past limit. I can type 5,000 characters or so in Android default. Update: Textnow denied length crash. I saw it say text message too long and three letters type ahead not being processed. That version was recent just before june19 current update. Also watched me type God, and gave me God bible banner! Real-time. Jul11.
