2 ★Ever since this app created "end to end encrypted" messeges, this app has been lagging. Sending photos take forever, reacting to someone's message glitches, and you can't pin messeges anymore or view them. You also can't remove the end to end encrypted messeges which is very annoying because now I have to search for a new app that dosent force me to have that option, and I really liked messenger as I have used it for 6 years. Sometimes, "upgrading" your app isn't good.
1 ★Good until recently but now it's awful and very annoying. I keep receiving notifications from past conversations or reactions to messages. I uninstalled the app and installed it back and then all of the notifications from all my messages came through at once from the past conversation as well and it's very annoying. The issue also happens every few minutes or hours and I am about to just uninstall it all together and use the browser site for messages from now on. Facebook Meta please fix this!
3 ★I am not sure what changed, but all of a sudden I am not able to type horizontally while using this app. I can use the keyboard on my phone and type horizontally while using the SMS texting app, or Google or any other application except for this one! I've uninstalled, restarted my phone and installed the app again TWICE. The keyboard works horizontally for most of the day before it stops turning and I can only use the vertical keyboard which is small to me.
1 ★Constantly 'connecting' even with full bars or wifi. Every ten minutes, I need to force close the app to be able to type or see messages. Every single update makes this service worse. Meta doesn't care about the experience of functionality at all as long as they can say that have millions of users. Let's see how long that lasts. (Spoiler: they will never care.)
1 ★App stops working every ten minutes. Idk if it was a recent update, but a very ten or so minutes, it wil just stop delivering messages and the only way to fix it is to go into the app settings, force stop it, clear the cache, and relaunch. This is obviously not how the app is supposed to work and I need to use it for work. So infuriating.
1 ★Way too buggy. You have to reinstall multiple times a week, adjust the settings whenever there's an update, there's way too many security issues, any of your info can be easily accessible, it eats way too much storage, doesn't save whatever you send, shrinks the picture quality etc... Idk how a messaging app can be so complicated. So far this one is the worst messaging app I've ever put my hands on.
1 ★I tried to look for some shared pictures with my friend yesterday and ALL SHARED MEDIA is gone completely!! Apparently developers have yet to make a statement regarding the issue as every user is affected. Edit: now the newest issue is that when someone sends a message sometimes an empty spaces shows and I just get a notification but I can't see what they sent even after force stopping and restarting the app/phone. I have android.
4 ★Never had too much of issue. Sometimes gifs don't show up properly if there are multiple in a row, but not too big a deal. The only major drawback is that it does not ask you to confirm a call or video call if you hit either icon, which are at the top right of the screen. It just does it, which can potentially be pretty embarrassing.
1 ★This is the unsafest messenger to use. It is so shoddy that it will easily allow any tampering. Often, when I check the Additional Permissions, I often have the ability to allow this program to install anything without the owners knowing or having permission. It will allow single files to be installed without permission or notification. If you want screenshots, I can send them.
2 ★This app was my main mode of comms for a while, but I may switch away because of how many bugs it has; nothing bubbles anymore, messages sometimes take several minutes to send, it constantly has to reconnect to the network, and it takes several days for profile pictures to update. Used to be a solid messaging app, now it's a damn slog to even attempt to use.
1 ★Awful. Every time I try to message someone it forces me to select between personal and business pages I manage (even though I'm logged in under personal). Then you just get stuck between Facebook, the choice to select which option, and another random page. Sometimes it then forces you to open Messenger separately which takes over the tab but doesn't open the message you just tried to open and just Messenger itself, so you have to close the entire tab, start over, and cross your fingers.
1 ★app won't access my media to send in chat. Takes ages to load of it ever does. Buried many useful features behind too many button clicks--like restricted contacts-- Tons of quality bugs in general, picture issues, keyboard issues. Wish there was an alternative to this garbage amalgamation of software . Feels like a punishment to have to use it
