How to install Gmail APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download Gmail APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.google.android.gm-v2025.01.19.721010531.Release-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★Like many other very recent reviews, I'm NOT getting notifications, after sending an email, it is in permanent QUEUE, sometimes without attachments ALWAYS with attachments. I'm in constant sync, while not actually syncing my slider to delete or archive emails is only ARCHIVE in either direction. I have read your trouble shooting in other reviews, installed, reinstalled, restarted, updated and have checked all of my settings to no avail. It's a predominant recent problem. Fix it on your end.
2 ★It used to be #1 on my list but now has fallen down and to the wayside. Very slow to update emails sent, slow to delete older content, won't allow inclusion of newer emails if it is "full" and won't until the older content is removed not hitting on any positives other than it is an email service. It may be offered as a prime email service on most devices but I wouldn't choose it as such, not with so many other choices available that are definitely better than Gmail.
1 ★I noticed I am no longer receiving notifications from this Gmail App. I contacted customer service and they stated it was a device issue. I have received notifications within my other email apps but this one has stopped working. I spent an hour on the phone with someone who ultimately was not able to help me. If you fix the problem we wouldn't have to go to a Google forum to try to circumvent the issues you are having
2 ★App is perfect if all you have is a single Gmail account. I tried to use this app to intergrate all off my email accounts, which it does do but not very well. There's no way to default to an "all inboxes" view (a simple feature available on similar apps). I couldn't organize my non-gmail emails into folders created for those accounts. And the option to delete non-gmail emails was sometimes not available. I expected so much more from Google. Eventually, I just moved on Blue Mail.
3 ★For the last several weeks, maybe even more than a month, I have not automatically received email notifications. I've uninstalled updates, reinstalled, force stopped, etc. but I still have to refresh manually to see my email. I've checked all my settings to no avail. I've had Gmail for as long as I've had a smartphone. I'm not sure what the issue is, but this isn't the only app that seems to have been screwed up with recent updates.
4 ★It's a decent app for checking email on my phone. About half the time, I'll tap on the menu, and the only thing that happens is it darkens the menu. After that, I have to close and reopen the app, because it just doesn't do ANYTHING except let me read what is in the folder I'm already looking at. It's done this for the last several updates.
5 ★Never had a problem until now. Constantly says app isn't responding! The app wants me to close or wait. I have subscriptions in spam that I didn't subscribe to. I unsubscribe, and the app crashes. Update! After I tried to uninstall, an update was available. I did the update, and now things are back to normal. I'm taking my review from two stars to five. I remember when my account and device was stolen. I contact Google. And my account was restored. And the old device logged off!
2 ★Continued problem where notifications stop without warning. Often don't discover this until checking mail later and realizing I received messages and didn't know which is problematic. UPDATE 1/9/24: This problem has continued to persist. After a while where I continued to get new mail notifications, the app has once again ceased notifying me when I receive emails. Notifications are enabled, and turning them off/back on does not solve this. How am I supposed to know when I get new email?????????
3 ★I would usually give 5 stars but since the last update when I open the app is fine but as soon as I start reading an email it just goes black, no words or anything except on the top of the screen where it shows who the email is from. Also, I will open an email from one person but it all of a sudden switches to an email from an entirely different person. I will give 5 stars after the bugs are fixed.
4 ★Great app! Just wanted to also say your support email kicks back a "this email is no longer used message," so here's my request: In a future version of the app, could the "Select All" box be moved up to the email selected counter when highlighting emails for action (like deleting or archiving)? Have the extra line pop emails down after selecting the first message causes unintended presses if moving quickly and doesn't feel as fluid. And could you update your email too please?
1 ★Search does not work - fails to find messages when you enter a keyword or search phrase. Doesn't display the meeting time for Ms teams invites. Weird quirky behavior where you have to click into a message twice to see the new message. It's a deeply flawed app, and despite many complaints and help requests they don't seem to address the issues.
2 ★Gmail pretty good on desktop, ok on phone Browser. App won't let me create new folders or labels. Mail recently gets stuck in Outbox. It does let me Schedule Send, handy. But a copy doesn't remain in Sent Folder after a Scheduled Send does send. ( I know it is received.) I can't do file sharing, video messaging, or send gifs: maybe 3rd party Big Buttons Keyboard. Android 12, all updates, Moto 2022 Power. I've been doing a great deal of my Gmail work using Desktop Outlook as a client. :-)
