3 ★The notifications are annoying. While it's a decent grocery shopping app, I build a list for shopping all week long, and it always triggers reminders that I've started a cart bt haven't finished it. Text, emails, app notifications. It's annoying. I haven't forgotten my cart. I'll finish when I'm ready. There's no way to turn this "feature" off without turning off all notifications, which are helpful when an order is in process. Safeway, make the madness stop!
1 ★The worst since the "upgrade" but good deals if it EVER works. This app was awesome until they updated it. Now it almost never lets me log in, when it does and I clip a coupon, it doesn't show its clipped, the scanner doesn't work, the search feature doesn't either, and the UI is hard to navigate and not at all intuitive - constantly hunting for my deals and rewards. Currently, it is having technical difficulties. Has them constantly. This app was great - it is virtually useless now.
1 ★App has been enshittified. At least it used to be easy to go in and clip all the coupons now it's set up to slow that down, putting pauses and getting already "clipped" coupons in your way. It's annoying that one must use an app in the first place to get a lower price, now it's extra tedious. Not recommended. But I guess if you're stuck using Safeway or Albertsons you deal with it. Def makes me like this store less.
3 ★Something happened with this most recent update. Android users are having a hard time clipping the coupons. You used to be able to just keep clipping the coupons and they would slowly move up as you clip them. Now you can only clip 1 or 2 coupons at a time. And then you have to keep moving the screen. The coupons that you clip will unclip themselves (won't stay clipped) and now show that they're available to clip. So they won't stay clipped. Please help because i'm not able to get my discounts.
4 ★*Update* They added the shopping list! It automatically adds anything you clip a deal for which is annoying! However the major problem is if you sign out it is cleared! So it's nice they added it but it's a bit useless since it gets cleared if you or the app signs you out! *Original* The app is good but it is missing something that would make it much better. A shopping list that let's you save your favorite items so they are easy to add & you can easily see when your favorites are on sale!
1 ★They got rid of the old Safeway pharmacy app and now make you use this one. That would be fine, if it actually worked. No matter how I choose to make an account (before submitting a refill or after), it redirects back to the home page and starts the whole process over again. So I have to enter each individual prescription in every time I need a refill for one. I have the most updated version and it still does this. I'm a software engineer so I know how to use tech lol, very disappointing
3 ★Overall, I love the app. It is easy to navigate. However, for the last month, I have been unable to use the feature that allows me to send my receipts to my email. I have always used this. (I do it for budgeting and keeping track of my spending habits) and now when I attempt to send the reciept it will say "receipt details not found" The last time I spoke with customer service about this issue they had no clue that was even a feature. Why offer it if it doesn't work?
1 ★Terrible. coupons never work. Store clerks never know why. They just say it should work, but only after they argue with you about the price first. I always have to do the math for them because they think it's going through but it's not. UPDATE: I went to the help line as suggested. Issue is that it can take upto 24hr for clipped coupons to show up at the register. So my review is reinforced. The app has no purpose because it will always be too slow for instore shopping.
2 ★Not super happy with the new update. The drop down menus for coupons by category is fine, but any hesitancy in scrolling (or trying to scroll back up the page!) results in the coupons page automatically refreshing and collapsing the category. Super frustrating that it's so touchy after the update. I prefer the older version of the app better and wish I could uninstall the latest update :/
3 ★Everytime you update this app you seem to mess it up. You moved the 'delete checked items and such' to a stupid set of 3 buttons on the top. Oh guess where it is? You replaced it with words to tell me how many items on the list, Who cares how many items? Really!!!. I do programming and these recent changes to the My list are really lame. Not easy to locate things I use to Manage My List. Put it back!!! Apps should be easy to use and locate functions that are used often.
5 ★the older version was easier to navigate. However, this newer version has more to offer, categories are bigger, clip coupons, or put in cart for pick up or delivery. Sometimes the items that come from the backshekves seem much tastier, even though the expiration date is the same. But,,, When it comes to frozen items toy might want to pick those up yourself :)
5 ★The delivery app is great, I'm disabled, and I'm still able to get ALL the deals, plus added discounts after joining the freshpass program, I found instacart charging more than what Safeway charges for items, sometimes up to 75cents per item. also instacart would do a lot of substitutions, direct with Safeway, I haven't had one sub. I'm very pleased with the app and service. if I had a complaint it might be that it takes 24 hours to get your delivery whereas instacart would deliver in 2hours.
