3 ★I reviewed this app a little over a year ago and noted that there were some suboptimal aspects. A major redesign rolled out last month was an attempt at an overhaul, but it's far from great: the feed (was:"library") doesn't automatically take you to the most recent activity when you refresh so if you wait half a day, you've got to manually scroll your way through all those videos to get back to the top. This s*$ks. I've also repeatedly had instances where videos don't play back correctly.
4 ★The app is fine, not perfect by any means, but it does ok. It has trouble managing video, you can't erase more than one at a time, there's not a feature to select more than one instance at a time, that I can find. The trouble is the SHORT battery life on the equipment connected, and even when you select what to record, it thinks animals are people and cars so it records everything.
3 ★Not quite ready for prime time! Onboarding the AIO sensors should come with the warning that the sensors need be mounted in their final position (or as close as possible). Sometimes, while onboarding, the sensors "lock up" and don't register open or close operations, and they can be difficult to "factory reset"; sometimes you need to restart the keypad hub to properly re-onboard a freshly reset sensor. The whole process seems flakey. And I'm still not sure about the need for the Dashboard!
2 ★It is absolutely impossible to contact anyone for tech support. We have ha multiple issues: kicked my husband off completely and will not allow him back on; wanted him to create a "new email address"; went "off line" and we cannot reconnect to our own system. The only reason I didn't give a 1 star review is that for the short time it did work, it had a clear picture. I would never recommend it to anyone though.
1 ★Well they fix the problem of it picking up everything but the first nightmare was when I changed my router took hours to get it to reconnect especially since their instructions forgot to mention that phone needs to be connected to the 2.5 g Wi-Fi. Well we had a power outage last night and it failed to connect so I've been standing on my head going through every procedure and I can see it on my Wi-Fi router but yet the app just keeps on spinning so I guess it's time to buy another brand.
3 ★The Arlo security doorbell app is not reliable. It frequently goes off line and a message pops up that Arlo is not connected to the internet... wrong! All of my devices are connected. This is frustrating. It is impossible to get in touch with a knowledgeable customer Service Representative. I can't get a simple suggestion as to why this is happening. That's why I label the Arlo security doorbell camera, "unreliable."
2 ★**Version 4 app update... none of my settings carried over. Had to delete my whole system and start over. New app settings and modes are not intuitive and a big departure from that last app version. Now my Pro 2 camera batteries are draining in 2 days, with no recordings, instead of lasting for months after the app update. Arlo is going from bad to worse. Geofencing is also just as sketchy with the new app as the old one.
3 ★It's a little glitchy, and it could use the ability to customize better. It will not show more than two items for a multi sensor on the device screen. Sure, I can add a special widget on the dashboard to show that one field, but you should see up to four items on the devices page where you can easily review all functions of a sensor. Also, do not trust the digital fencing option. We left our adult son at home with his phone fully charged and linked. When we left the area, it armed AWAY.
3 ★Useful and annoying. Tells me there are turkeys in my yard 5 times an hour. Told me "vehicle detected". It was me. Not amused by the insult. Always wants me to select "emergency" or "siren." Turkeys are rarely an emergency. No option to cancel the upgrade trial. Don't want it. Don't need it. Not going to buy it. I wanted a notification for deliveries. That's it. I do like being able to view on demand. The doorbell is useful. The app is annoying.
2 ★It's great about sending alerts when somebody is at the door and sets off the motion detector. It records the video.... But none of the other features are working. We managed to get a live feed for maybe like 10 min today. All the other times live feed is not working. During the short period of time that the live feed was working, the microphone/speakers were getting so much feedback noise that we couldn't hear the person or say anything to the person. Contacting support did not help at all.
3 ★Van be very buggy. Have to restart multiple times sometimes just to use the live feed and have all its options including 2k streaming work. Sometimes it stops showing 2k quality and the ability to go full screen. Also not sure if this is the app or my camera but sometimes it will record a single car that went by for over a minute..but when I got home the other night it recorded me pulling in the driveway and stopped recording before I even got out and walked inside. Not very useful.
1 ★Constant issues. First system we purchased worked great for the first couple years then just stopped working. The customer service is all automated so very difficult to get any information. Alot of wasted time for nothing. We have so much invested in cameras we bought the latest system hoping everything was sorted. Worked for a month and now very frustrated again. I don't recommend.
