2 ★Our roomba generally does a reasonable job of vacuuming our apartment. There's a few issues, one would perhaps expect a less buggy system for the price, but it's generally ok. The iRobot Home app, on the other hand, is utter garbage. On my up-to-date Android device there are multiple ways to make it crash inelegantly. The smart map features don't work at all. The app frequently refuses to connect to the robot, despite a strong WiFi signal. When the app does begrudgingly work it's awfully slow.
2 ★New app style is bad. It's a poor design, based on the popularity of infinite scrolling apps, which is a horrible fit for the nature of the tool. Previous app design was vastly superior, and less cluttered. Seriously, what is "favorites" even for? The purpose of the robot is literally to do the same thing repeatedly.
2 ★I love love love my Roomba but for the last 3 or 4 days the app won't even open. All it does is attempt to load for a good 10-15 minutes before I get tired of trying and stop. I'm glad I connected it to my Alexa so that I can still start the Roomba remotely. As long as I don't forget to start it before I leave the house everything is fine. They just really need to work out the bugs with the app.
3 ★I am having problems with M6 mop. After I run the mop, unless I go into the app on the last physical run & update map from there I get an error 32. Once I do, if I try to change room dividers, keep out zones or clean zones, it goes back to error 32. The app, most of the time won't load. I have to uninstall & reinstall to get it to work. I am having no problems with the I6 vacuum.
2 ★Like previous reviewers, my Roomba 8+ worked fine until today (May 21, 2021). The app would not load when I tried to use my Roomba. So, I uninstalled it and downloaded/reinstalled. After 3 attempts to get the reinstalled app to load, it finally started running. I am assuming that it was updating in some manner during this process. BUT, ASSUMING THIS WAS THE CASE, THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THAT ON THE SCREEN . If some action is being performed during an update, then some notification of that process needs to be added to the screen. A BLANK SCREEN WITH A LOGO AND A SPINNING ARROW IS OF NO HELP TO THE USER! Very aggravating.
5 ★It has taken some time for me to fully understand this android app and it's functions. Patience while the vacuum is initially mapping the home is important. Since that first week I have assigned names to the different rooms in the house and scheduled selected areas at different times to clean.
1 ★Just got a new Roomba and this app is already a nightmare. While updating the firmware it just hung on 100% until I restarted the app, and now it just crashes every time I open it. Really? edit: after uninstalling and reinstalling it seems to work fine, but why should I have to do that just to make it work?
4 ★App I good and easy to use. Problem I have: vacuum and mop do not share floor plans; You need to let the robots to learn its own floor plan; Mop won't go over floor divisions, you must create a new floor plan for each area you want to mop, and carry the mop to an area the dock station is not. My house is a 1 story property.
3 ★Not bad but I expected better from company that's supposed to be an industry leader. Why cant my vacum and mop roombas share the map of the apartment rather than requiring robots and users to generate, setup and manage two identical maps. It's lacking in reminders: It should remind me to clean or swap the mop when its done mopping, or to replace filter after certain lenght of usage. Its also missing option to remind me to activate the robots when I leave my home. Cant see water level in app.
2 ★The ap is a disaster. Sometimes it works. Mostly it doesn't. It's RIDICULOUS. Tried restarting my phone. Didn't help. Uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same disaster. WHERE it cleans, it does a great job. Regardless of advances in the ap, the machine still cleans like a drunken sailor. Sometimes it will hit a wall and go along it. Then it hits the next wall and goes off in some crazy way. Best way to get a room cleaned is to block it in. Super disappointed.
1 ★The hardware cleans really well, however the app is useless. The Roomba won't connect to our network (2.4GHz as required) and when it looks like it is we get a sudden error, "something went wrong, try again". It doesn't say what went wrong not what they source of the error is. I can't even connect directly to the robot (seriously who needs to reschedule their robot from China). I need to be able to control and schedule it from my phone even if the internet isn't working.
5 ★We have had our "Snoopy" for one month. It has been a life changer. The Ap is so simple a child could do it and all our expectations have been completely fulfilled. This is truly a marvel and I hope someone is rich because of this..once again thanks for this superior product 👏
