Description
1878年（明治11年）。明治維新以降、士族反乱などで
多くの犯罪者が出て、
彼らの多くが送り込まれた監獄から
脱獄が後を絶たなかったのです。
そこで政府は琵琶湖に絶対脱獄不可能な
獄門処を作り、犯罪者を送り込むことにしました。
その獄門島に「橋渡し」するのは
湖畔の曇神社の曇三兄弟です。
おりしもこの時、大津の空は
長期の曇天が続き、
曇天続きの時300年に一度、
人々に災いをもたらすという
「大蛇（オロチ）」が現れる、
その大蛇は本人が知らないまま
人間に帰依して、住み付き、
大蛇に住み付かれた人間は
「大蛇（オロチ）の器」と呼ばれ、
大蛇を退治するため
「大蛇の器」となった人を
無条件で殺すということになっていました。
その「大蛇の器」を探しだし殺す役割を果たすのが
右大臣直属部隊「犲（やまいぬ）」。
曇三兄弟とその周辺の人たち、
曇兄弟に対抗する勢力、
「犲（やまいぬ）」の隊員たち、
彼らは「大蛇」を巡って次々に名言を放ちます。
