1 ★There is ALWAYS a loading problem, a lag, a buffering issue, and/or random issue when using this app on any of my Samsung smart TVs. Using it on mobile devices is a lot better, but the app STILL has the same problems, occasionally. I have to use Peacock almost daily because of one (daily) show I watch, but it's so annoying that every single time I watch, there is some kind of problem.
1 ★If I could give it less than one star I definitely would. I love how they keep raising the price but won't fix the problem I've been having. On my Roku TV in the living room, the peacock app will freeze but continue to make sound. And on the device I have in the bedroom it skips forward and backwards. I love how they keep raising the price for the apps that don't work but don't fix the apps. It's a damn shame
2 ★The picture-in-picture no longer works properly on Android. I keep getting an error message telling me the app isn't optimized for the latest version of Android. Either the app freezes or it expands to be so big that you can't watch the show. The video popout only works if you have no other apps running (defeating the purpose of the popout) and even then it takes many tries to get it to work.
1 ★This app is really poor. With all of the functionality that can be built into streaming platforms, it seems obvious that NBC is purposefully going on the cheap unless they specifically don't want their viewers to have basic services like rewind in the experience. I will continue regardless because I want the specific content of the premier league, but the day they lose the rights is the day I cancel my service.
2 ★I only rarely use Peacock (not a huge number of shows I'm interested in) but lately I've been binging Resident Alien and this app has a glaring feature missing: it doesn't seem to tie into whatever media service Android has. Meaning that if you start watching something while you're listening to music in another app, it won't automatically pause that music. Or listen to media controls on your headphones. Or stop playing when your headphones disconnect. It's frustrating.
4 ★Considering I pay for Peacock, I think the 2 1/2 plus mins of ads prior to watching a movie is just a tad bit excessive so minus 1 ⭐ for that reason. I do feel their library is mediocre and definitely needs much newer content but ultimately it's not as bad as some of the more popular streaming services. That said, I won't take away from the fact that the app itself is well designed. Easy to navigate with clean controls and overall nicely done which makes the small negatives quite tolerable.
1 ★Has the best, most needed, buffering animation on the web! This app, when casting to Chromecast will actually extend the watch time by as much as 20%. It does this by cleverly freezing a frame and letting you watch a yellow, open circle chase itself for 3-5 seconds at a time. Often, frequently within the same 2-4 minute period of a movie or show. No, it isn't my network - Netflix, Hulu, PBS, etc. get along without any buffering. Peacock, it seems, has severely under-scaled its servers!
2 ★The app on my smart TV works great but on my phone it's terrible. It's constantly crashing, resetting. If I have to pause my show and it's paused for too long it'll reset back to the beginning of the episode I was watching so I'll have to fast forward to where I was and watch 2 mins of commercials that I already watched previous before I was paused it. It never saves your spot when u stop watching an episode and turn the app off. It's absolutely terrible and makes me want to cancel my sub
1 ★Peacock has been charging me for their service, but I can't gain access to any movies or live sports. I've been trying to get refunded, but their CUSTOMER SERVICE always have trouble getting back with me. Convenient. I recommend NO ONE use this app. CUSTOMER SERVICE is horrible, and they don't care one single bit about the money they take, or otherwise. TERRIBLE APP, bunch of thieves!!
1 ★Commercials for 5.99 plan are over 60 seconds, and it's freezing in the middle of commercials. When it freezes, you get an error that says generic playback error. My husband account and he is pissed he watches on his phone at work. What I don't understand is how a company goes from free to charging that fast. The movies quality lately is horrible they either don't have sound or freezing. Someone This company needs to explain this!
2 ★Wasn't bad until they added more ads. The added ads after pausing a show or movie pop up to fast. I'll pause to read some subtitles that pop up or pause to grab a drink and well guess what, ads interrupt well im trying to read what was said & have to back out just to unpause the show. It's so annoying, I think I'm dropping this service after I watch the last couple of episodes. Also everyone I load the app it has an error then I have to reload it.
1 ★This app is terrible. It's been a available for several years, but you *still* can't remove items from Continue Watching except through a dumb workaround. Content will not play for me on the Brave browser. Continue Watching didn't show up on the Home screen on the Chrome browser. The experience using this platform on Roku, web browsers, and devices is bad. You really need to invest more effort in this app if you expect people to continue subscribing to the platform.
