문막평화교회는 믿음이 새 역사를 만들어 가는 교회 (사 60:22)로 주님의 지상 대 명령인 “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대화 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라“ (행1:8)는 말씀에 의지하여 1997년 7월1일에 강원도 원주시 문막읍의 조그마한 마을에 설립되었습니다.교회개척을 위하여 준비하며 기도던 중, 하나님께서 아래와 같은 어마어마한 말씀을 주셨습니다. “그 작은 자가 천 명을 이루겠고 그 약한 자가 강국을 이룰 것이라 때가 되면 나 여호와가 속히 이루리라(사 60:22)”라는 말씀을 주셨습니다. 지금의 문막은 작은 마을이지만 앞으로 장래를 바라볼 때는 대한민국의 중심이 될 뿐 아니라 세계가 주목하는 위대한 역사를 이루어갈 축복의 처소가 될 것입니다.그리고 그 한 가운데에 저희 교회가 중심 역할하며 믿음이 새 역사를 만들어 가는 교회로써 역사를 새롭게 쓰는 교회가 되도록 하겠습니다.
