1 ★Update: again, what you are proposing is not relevant. Please report this as a bug to the devs. Update: I have tried the link, but it's not relevant. The issue I'm having is with the voice search assistant that we have been using for the last 10 years. Why did you break this? Original review: Voice commands stopped working. Now it just Googles for everything. "Set an alarm for 3:30 PM" for example just opens a web browser and types that in. Major regression, making voice commands useless.
1 ★I'm not sure what happened, but there must be a new update that has completely messed up the app. I used to be able to hit the button and listen to a song to find out who sang something, and now it doesn't work at all. Plus the voice to text ends sentences in weird places as well as puts actual words in when you say "period" "exclamation point" etc
1 ★The Google Assistant is broken. I speak to her & she is super slow to register & respond. Please fix the Gboard's microphone issue as wel! Speech-to-text does not work on occasion, yet frequently as well. When it is not working properly it says it's due to an error message that reads: Unable to receive audio, try again later. As shown in the attached screenshot. I have reached out to support numerous times, and have not received a response. This all is very infuriating!
2 ★There seems to be no distinction between the Google app and the Google Assistant app. They both do the same thing, so I uninstalled Google Assistant. "Speech Output" is always resetting itself back to "Full," no matter how times you change it to "None." I don't need to hear full voice confirmations from my assistant every time. Just do it. Settings>Assistant voice&sounds>Speech Output. I miss the good days of the Droid voice commands! It just worked and fast with a simple confirmation tone.
3 ★I really like the image to text feature, I use it for screenshots a lot. One thing that really bugged me about this app is when I pulled up all the apps with open windows on my Samsung Android phone, it kept saying this was running in the background even if I closed all the apps. Also, I didn't like the crazy permissions it had, like this app had permissions for everything, I turned off a lot of the permissions in my phone's Settings and set others to "ask first". Please address those issues.
2 ★I already did more than one update that has exactly the same description and info. Obviously your not putting out the same update over and over. So what do the current and most recent updates change?! Also had responsive issues like it's not wanting to recognize when you hit the back button and it acts glitchy. Now my phone isn't as responsive and quick as before! And it's not device specific! This happened with several different phones! And it all just started after manual update. Thank you!
3 ★Idk what they did in the last update, but Google doesn't want to work anymore. I go to search for something and the load bar doesn't move. The blue stays in the one spot and it just stays a blank screen. I'm able to search Google through the Chrome app, but the Google app itself doesn't want to search anymore. And it's not an internet connection issue because I tried it in my house with a wifi connection and on the road with data and nothing changed.
3 ★I have used this app for years and it has worked perfectly! Since your last update on August 31st I am now unable to open the Google Assistant when my phone screen is locked even though everything is turned on properly! The only way for me to fix this is to erase all data off of the app and then it works fine. However, if I turn the phone off and then back on again I have to go through the same process of deleting all data again! They're now seems to be a glitch in your app! Most frustrating!
1 ★The most recent app update has broken voice search. Google Assistant attempts to answer, but my search screen disappears and the Assistant screen never appears. EDIT: I appreciate the developers reply, however, after reviewing the URL, I can confirm that I had already attempted all of those troubleshooting steps before making this post. I honestly believe that it's part of the "rush to AI" that's caused this issue.
2 ★10/15/23 edit: I tried and didn't work, submitted to help and feedback. Original review: Since the recent update 10/2023 when I try to search online, the page automatically keeps trying to reload, over and over again and continually gets faster. I can't read anything due to this. The only way to get it to stop is to close the page. When reopening Google and trying again, the same thing happens. I have tried everything in the help section. I am beginning to think it's a glitch with the update?
1 ★Google Assistant just doesn’t work. When voice commands are attempted, Android Auto throws back the following error message: Voice commands aren’t available right now. I am so bothered by the fact I can no longer reply to texts in the car with voice, I can't even have them read aloud. This update has done nothing to improve anything. It has done the opposite.
1 ★Really hate the collapsed search results and the suggested search results at the bottom of the search screen, I wish there was a way to turn it off to get normal website results so it's easier to see a preview of the website. Also, the AI articles are making getting a clear answer difficult and are spreading nonsense and misinformation, wish there was a way to turn them off too.
