1 ★I have better things to do than argue with your printer and your app for an hour and a half to print one page! Other companies have figured out that mobile phones have this other thing besides Wi-Fi called Bluetooth. When you connect to a device like a printer with Wi-Fi, your phone argues with you because there is no internet availability through that WiFi. Then because your phone is arguing with you it refuses to allow the app to talk to the printer. Simplify things by using just Bluetooth!
1 ★This app sucks. I'm trying to change the network settings for my printer, via the app, so that it can connect to the new router. HP has made it unnecessarily difficult to do what should've been a simple task. I feel like all I'm getting is the runaround. Even the "printer setup" link won't work for me. They sure make it REAL easy to join their ink subscription, though. Funny how getting your money is all laid out in a simplistic manner. This app is not intuitive and certainly isn't "smart."
1 ★This app is probably the hardest app I've ever used in 15yrs using Android. When I need it, it never works. Not only that, but getting it working is at least a 30minute project to get it reconnected, despite android being able to print from other apps. I only go in here to fix issues with smearing and alignment, but that is never easy. Took 45min today to get it to clean the heads, at which point it regularly disconnected. I like Instant Ink but it might not be worth the extreme time and effort.
1 ★Cannot find printer. Does not work. I bought a brand new printer (T630). At first, the app found the printer and set it up - sort of. When I click finish with the set up, the app just kept looping on refresh.... The printer got set up but the app kept saying it was offline. I deleted the app and try to find the printer and it could not find it at all. Even from the Existing printer menu. Garbage.
2 ★Great on the few occasions when it works. Unfortunately it rarely works. You'll spend more time trouble shooting the connection than you'll spend printing. Not much you can do. Trouble shooting basically involves unplugging and restarting the printer, the network and the device multiple times; until the printer finally shows up on the network.
1 ★So in September 2023 HP. updated the app and changed its layout in HP smart and HP print apps. The login for HP lost ALL printer info and troubleshooting says " factory reset printer and reset it up"! You know how much of a pita that is to do and reset each device up? 2 cellphone, PC, 2 tablets, wifi syncing, wasting half the ink in printer to do all the testing. Horrible update. don't do it.
1 ★I would love to know why with this current version of the Android app I can't get all of my printer's features to work when they work perfectly fine in Windows. I spent days resetting the printer and clearing app caches only to find out that THIS APP is the problem, and not my printer!!! I've used this app for YEARS and now it's giving issues. Please fix it!!
2 ★Hp has good customer service, but their printers and app leave a lot to be desired. Switching routers involved needing live support, remote computer access, downloading several apps and a lot of time despite having the app on my phone. Recommend a company that has a more fluid process. Update: app on computer shows scanner not working. It works if I use the phone app. 1 computer says printer not working, other computer works fine. In need of serious improvements.
1 ★Have no way to adjust the printer settings such as percentage of size, resizing, adjusting placement or adjusting Darkness set to print black ink only or color, none of these are available when using the HP smart app for the 2700 printer through an Android phone. The setup to Wi-Fi is super easy and it's nice to have ink monitoring and automatic ordering but other than that the app is useless.
1 ★App has issues, runs terribly slow, poor scanning but if you connect your printer to a computer and use the windows HP app the windows it works fine but phone app is terrible, not functional. I canceled my account for almost a year until recently trying to connect my computer. HP makes enough money off everyone to put out a correctly working app to run their printers. Especially the printers that rely completely on apps or Windows app to print. Not all HP printers come with a touch screen.
1 ★I moved and got a different router. Was never able to connect this thing to the new wifi. To make things even worse. I did the free month ink subscription. I didn't know that you CAN'T cancel the subscription if you can't connect the printer. Now I have to change my credit card so they can't charge me. The most bazaar system I've ever experienced.
1 ★HP! What the heck? Why would you make a quality printer so heavily dependant on such a useless app? The app makes the printer an inoperable piece of junk on my desk. I can't scan or fax without de app and the app fails to work way too many times, populating a "Feature Unavailable" screen every time I try. What do you mean "Feature Unavailable"??? I paid to have this feature available on my printer! Not to have it occasionally, but to have it EVERY SINGLE TIME!
