The NETGEAR genie app is an easy way to manage, monitor, and repair your home network--from the palm of your hand. While on your home network, the NETGEAR genie app allows you to access router features with your mobile device. You can access the following router settings using the NETGEAR genie app: wireless settings, network map, Parental Controls, guest access, traffic metering, MyMedia, and more.
• Easily control your home network through the genie dashboard
• Stream music and video files anywhere in your network from your smartphone or tablet
• Securely connect smart phones and tablets to your home wireless network with a QR code thanks to EZ Mobile Connect

The NETGEAR genie app does not work if your mobile device is connected to the router’s guest network.
The NETGEAR genie only works when your mobile device is connected to a NETGEAR router that is in router mode, not in access point mode.
The NETGEAR genie app does not work with a wireless extender or repeater.
The NETGEAR genie app currently does not support IPv6. If IPV6 is enabled, logging in to the router using the genie app will fail.

How to install NETGEAR Genie APK on Android phone or tablet?

2 ★Does not show all devices attached to my router. Misses both wired and wifi attached devices. Also, it does not remember names or types that you set for each IP address that it does find.
1 ★I have a Nighthawk. This app did everything I wanted and did it fairly well, there were hiccups on occassion, but it was great enough otherwise to be forgiven. Now I can't log in and all it prompts me to do is go to the Nighthawk app on the Play Store, an app that forces you to make an external account just to access your router. Instant uninstall. I bought a Nighthawk to avoid such nonsense. What a mess, just roll it back, we'll be waiting.
1 ★Can't ever log in anymore, just an endless loading screen. Most frustrating app ever. Also no availability to create a schedule for devices. Not a very useful app at all, just use the website.
1 ★no longer supports my $150 router. My router did not change. It was a company decision to stop supporting the device I purchased from them. With games like this, it'll be the last device I purchase from them. I have tried their other app that does work with my router but it does not support remote management. The older version of Geinie did. I'm trying to get it copied from my wife's phone before her's gets updated and stops working too.
1 ★Doesn't log in , wasting so much time , standing right next to extender and nothing , doesn't log in , i manually input my ip address and still nothing , trash app, extender keeps dropping signal , cannot log in to see if i need an update
1 ★At first I was thrilled to use the functions of the app, however within an hour of using it the " network web" stopped working. then the parental control icon stated I had no internet connection, however the wifi icon showed I was connected and my connection was strong. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. No change. I reset the router, no change. I explored the support page for the app and it's full of posts about the same issue and others. I'm very disappointed.
1 ★Right off the bat this app tries to login and never returns with a success or failure.
3 ★I like the app but I can't access the 5Ghz settings from it to change them. I can only access the 2.4GHz settings and that's it. I would give the app better rating if it had that capability.
4 ★This app is better than the new one. Although they are discontinuing this one, here you can rename devices if you know which are they. Can't do it in the new one. Maybe my router is too old. Who knows. But I'll stick with this oldie.
3 ★The network map is useful to see which devices are connected and to pause internet per device. Few options here, though. It would be nice to be able to set access schedules without paying for additional router features. The download activity graphs never show activity, so I'm not sure what they are for.
1 ★Original app was fantastic, loved the feature and value of the 7xxx series, but functionality was ruined by updates. $99 per issue paid support is absurd. All these automated setups just can't beat the efficiency of a manual setup for users who know what they're doing. Running third party open source code doesn't interest me, but I'd probably be better off. progress... NOT
5 ★Probably the best Router camtrol app out there, made by the best router makers. And what else can I say im pretty biased.
