The B-hvye smart sprinkler timer app allows you to control or monitor your sprinklers from anywhere in the world with the convenience of your smart device.Smart Watering
Knowing how long and how often to water your plants can be challenging. When set to smart watering mode, B-hyve takes the guesswork out of watering and utilizes Mother Nature, along with some really great technology, to determine the watering schedule for your yard. When set and left in smart watering mode, B-hyve can save users as much as 50% more water over a traditional controller.
Weather
When set in smart mode, B-hyve uses local weather data to determine how much water is evaporated and transpired through your plants each day to know when it needs to water. It also accounts for any rainfall that is in the forecast, shuts off the system for rain, then looks back to see how much actually fell. That’s smart! But all yards are not the same. B-hyve also takes into account things like soil type, plant type, sun/shade and slope to determine a watering schedule that takes the water to the roots and helps avoid runoff.
WeatherSense
If you want to be the one in control of the schedule, that’s okay too. With B-hyve you can set custom programs to water how you want while still taking advantage of the local weather data to override watering in case of a weather event. This will shut off your system during the rain and resume your program when the rain has passed. That’s smart!

5 ★I am very happy with the Orbit Bhyve smart watering timer and the application. I have the 12 station version. It is outside so the Landscaper can adjust settings from the timer directly and I can keep an eye on things via the app. I love being able to assign a Pic to each zone so I know what area is being watered. I also like getting the history. Its also nice to see the % moisture for each zone. There are so many features. I haven't enabled the Smart watering feature yet.
4 ★it works great EXCEPT I had a wind delay last week so instead of postponing the watering it completely skipped it. that means after all that wind my lawn went without water for two cycles. same thing happens with rain. if there's rain in the forecast, but your area doesn't get any rain then your yard goes without water. usually I remember, but this is good to keep in mind if you go out of town or something.
5 ★App was easy to set up once I found instructions to put the smart controller into "PAIR" mode (turn knob to OFF position, open back, and tap Reset button). That allowed the app to pair with the controller and begin setup. The amount of information the app shows you is incredibly useful, and easy to set up. Testing watering zones, setting up programs, enabling rain delays, all easy. Looking forward to enabling smart watering once my catch cups arrive.
5 ★Seems to work well although I have a controller in Arizona and one in Oregon and I am not able to control the one that is out of state when in the other state. I really like being able to control my irrigation using my phone. Especially nice when making repairs or installing new heads. Talked to Orbit techs who helped me get it right. All is good
5 ★This thing is AWESOME! They've pretty much thought of everything... multiple watering schedules, rain delays, smart watering... I have no complaints nor any suggestions for improvements. I've also found an alternative use for this app... "Bark Control". It seems like EVERY time I have a web meeting, the neighbors let thier dogs out... and then our dogs meet them at the fence for a throwdown/bark-off. ...one carefully placed sprinkler head and a single tap on Zone3, and then its like MAGIC?!
5 ★After years of making multiple trips to the sprinlker control to troubleshhot zone and put it into rain delay, I got the b-hyve smart controller. setup was easy and straightforward. it connected to wifi network with no problems. i activated the smaert watering and set up the zone without any troubles. Everything tested ok, on the first try. As soon as I had the zones setup, it had down loaded weather and set up a watering schedule! I am very pleased with the smart controller.
4 ★As other mentioned, setup can be a little tricky. I found myself setting up the hose timer, and the wifi hub in two separate workflows. At first, the prompts were intuitive, but once I set up my wifi hub, I was booted out of the setup process, leaving me to restart the timer + hub setup process. This didn't work since my hub was successful configured already, so I had to invoke the timer only setup, which worked okay. Def some hiccups, but the auto schedule feature is cool - worked well this AM!
4 ★Easy to use. Only problem is pairing to wifi group is sometimes a pain in the *ss. Once set it works great and battery life is fantastic. If only it was able to irrigate more than twelve times per day, this would be perfect. Greast feature is that it has ability to water down to the second and is fairly accurate.
1 ★Non-intuitive garbage. In this day of smart phones and easy to use apps,, this one sucks. Want to run two controllers? Go into settings, find devices, hit 'control this device' and back and forth between two controllers using multiple steps. Setting up stations is just as chaotic , jumbled, and again, non intuitive. Hey Orbit...SIMPLIFY THIS APP.
5 ★In my opinion, the Orbit B-hyve 6-zone home irrigation controller is high quality, durable, and surprisingly easy to install and program. As an aded, the B-hyve smart phone app is clear and concise, too. I appreciate both the simplicity and reliability of both the hardware and software components. Even a retiree can use them with them with ease!
4 ★Works fairly decent everything seems to be easy to use. What I'm not finding and would find very helpful is a skip A-day feature for a program. If we Don't want the grass wet in the morning and want it to water the following day because we are going to mow or entertain or whatever it would be nice to easily skip A-day without having to redo the program.
4 ★The system overall works pretty good. Unfortunately when the forecast calls for rain it automatically sets a rain delay even if it doesn't rain. It would be great if there was a sensor that would know if it actually rained. It does allow you to manually water from the app on the phone so at least the plants get watered.
