Description

Group Share for Gmail allows you to quickly share via email with one of your Gmail contact groups.

Important! If you're not seeing all your groups, go into the app Settings and enable "Show Invisible Groups" - they should then be visible.

******
New in v3.1 / v3.1.1!
"Force Gmail Sharing" setting added; this is useful if default apps have meant nothing happens when you click on a group.
New "Hide/Show Group" function on long-press menu. New "Show Hidden Groups" setting.
Google required update to new libraries; this means only Android 4.0 (ICS) and higher is now supported.

New in v3.0!
"Keyboard" feature added! This will let you easily forward emails to a group!
It allows you to input groups directly into a field (e.g. the To: field of an email you're composing), without leaving Gmail.
To use this, enable the keyboard in device input settings (ignore the warning - we aren't evil, promise), and then switch to the Group Share for Gmail input device when you're in the desired field.
Select a group and it will populate the field with the list of email addresses. It'll auto-switch back to your previous input method (or will prompt you to select one if you're on android 2.x or below).

Clipboard support! Long press a group and select Copy to Clipboard, then Paste the email addresses wherever you wish (e.g. a To: field).
******

A simple example - you're out in the wilds somewhere and typing is tricky. You want to email some photos from your phone to your family.

You already have a Gmail contact group set up with the relevant family email contacts.
On your phone, you select the photo(s) in the gallery you wish to share with them, perform "Share".
Choose Group Share for Gmail, and you are presented with a list of your Gmail contact groups.
Select one, and Gmail is started with the appropriate contact email addresses filled in and your attachment(s) made.

No trying to type email addresses one by one. A big timesaver!

You can also simply run the app directly and choose a contact group to send an email to.

Set an option to use Bcc: instead of To: (so recipients don't see each other's email addresses).

This Free version is ad-supported. Please buy the ad-free version if you like it and want to support us.

Note : if you enable "Display contact count" in the options, and the counts don't seem to reflect the number of contacts in a group when you view the contact list, there are two reasons this can happen.
Firstly, some contacts may be "joined" into a single displayed contact (but are counted multiply in the list).
Secondly, Facebook contacts are included in the count but aren't displayed in the list for a group (FB security restricts other apps viewing FB contacts).

Permissions :
READ_CONTACTS - so it can read who is in which group.
WRITE_CONTACTS - so it can modify and create new groups.
GET_ACCOUNTS - so it can get the list of configured gmail accounts to select from.
INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - required for the AdMob in-app advertising to work.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Yay! Why Gmail doesn't have this as standard procedure I have NO IDEA.
5 ★Exactly what I've been looking for
5 ★Excellent
5 ★Love this app thanks so much!!!!!😀
5 ★Excellent
5 ★I have a Samsung S6 and use Gmail exclusively. This App opens up new horizons for me. I used to have my group emails in a Note format and then copied and pasted to my outgoing mail. Slow and infuriating but it worked. Well done Group Share so far it works flawlessly. Thank you.
3 ★Nexus 5; Android 6.0 Seems to be working fine when creating an email from scratch. Nice! But the "Forward" functionality still is elusive. Here is what the developer has said in response to previous reviews that have expressed the same frustration: "You can 'Forward' an email to a group using the "input device" functionality, where Gmail Group Share appears as an input method (once enabled in Settings)." Questions: 1. Where is the "input device" functionality controlled? In Android? In the Group Share app? In the Gmail app? Where, exactly (click by click by click -- specific info, please) 2. "appears as an input method" . . . where? In the Group Share app? If so, WHERE in the Group Share app? Settings? Or do you mean in the Gmail app? (my Gmail app settings do not provide any menu item labeled "input device.") Or do you mean the Android System settings? Where does one find the "input method" functionality? 3. "Once enabled in settings." WHOSE settings? The Group Share app? The Gmail app? The Android system settings? Whichever, where is "input device" located? I can't find it anywhere.
5 ★I didn't want to switch from blackberry until I got this app on my android, I was good after that, now they need it for iPhone, I can add this to my other phone then
4 ★This app works fine on my phone, where I have only one gmail account. But on my tablet, which I share with another person, that person's account is selected as the Group Share user. Alphabetically, comes first is what I assume is the problem. Nothing about selecting account at install time, nor (better yet) switching accounts. Too bad. Works well under the right, but limited, circumstances. Update: Author identified where to change. In settings, an option under "Groups to Show", such as "Show system groups". I admit I missed under this category. Perhaps instead of "Account for Groups" "Change" or "Switch" Account for Groups. After all, the other choices in this category include a verb. Listing the current account with this label would also make it more obvious. Lastly, clicking on the current account on the main interface resulting in a choice would be more Google-like, in my opinion. Thanks.
5 ★Having trouble with large (50) bcc forwards failing last two or three days???
5 ★I am amazed that Google didn't bother to offer this simple app... So thank you guys for making it possible.
3 ★The app works well on my Galaxy 5 phone but not on my Tab A. I can't put a group in the BCC address window. If I could I would rate this app 5*.
