起宏遠於民國九十年二月一日設立至今，承蒙各界肯定，招收學齡前及國小之學童，以讀經教育為書院主要課程，藉由經典之引導，端正孩童品格發展，體悟經典精神，建立中華文化基礎體系，培育有宏觀視野的優質下一代。

台灣推動讀經之風氣，日益漸盛，回首草創時期經典書院四處林立，皆屬個人式經營模式，教學資源匱乏，師資良莠不齊；教學過程中，想引導孩童深入體悟經典之美，又受限於教材編訂、課程規劃、師資養成..等，舉步難矣!感此深切，於是走入體制內，為的就是想讓孩子接受正軌的讀經教育。

宏遠體認到經典是永續傳承之大業，因此成立宏遠經典文教機構，統籌規劃各分校的所有活動課程、師資研習，以深耕讀經教育多年的資源，採用博雅式經典多元教學，結合高師大經學研究所之專業能力，共同提昇讀經教育品質而盡力。
