How to install Piper Mobile APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download Piper Mobile APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.blacksumac.piper-v2.8.3-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). 2 ★Last piper software update now resulting in device not responding. Support call logged 5 days ago. Piper team acknowledged issue was being worked on. Waiting for software patch release. Not happy about delay since camera not useable. Update 7 Sept 2019 - new software update applied to piper device, following email advise from support and issue now resolved.
1 ★constantly crashing the last 1 to 2 months. also draining phone resources as a result. fix. your. app. i know your developers are being told in detail the root of these crashes as I'm in Mobile development. this is terrible support. you haven't even emailed your user base.
1 ★The app connects to my piper 1/10 times, and now they've removed support for IFTTT, which was the only thing that made the device usable. Add in time controls so it can arm and disarm automatically, or lose customers.
1 ★Same issues as others. Latest update crashes and does not allow me to reconnect camera. Although this camera has worked ok for years it's always experienced frequent network connection issues and resetting it is a pain. Time to send this thing to the junk bin.
1 ★Push notifications no longer work and hasn't for some time. I understand that it can be the device but it makes Piper useless if you arent notified. The piper team should find a fix and post to their users. It might make sense to list fixes in a FAQ. Issues noted on Samsung Note 8 and Samsung S9.
2 ★Way too many problems every time a new update comes out. This has forced me to turn off auto update. I now wait a week or two and check reviews. Needless to say I'm still running an old version that is only half operational.
3 ★I've had Piper for almost 3 years now and I've generally been happy with it but in the past few weeks it has stopped sending me push notifications when the alarm is triggered which is the function that I need the most.
5 ★Previous release in Dec 2018 introduced a bug where the app crashed when setting a new rule. Customer service was quick to respond and issued a fix. Great service and great home security system.

2 ★As of May 1, 2019 Piper is eliminating Google Home and Amazon Echo integration through IFTTT. They gave existing customers less than a week's notice. New app functionality hasn't been added for at least 2 years. Buyer beware!
