1 ★Low quality, often unusable. Simply, it does not work - wasted money I've been using toolani for more than 10 years to call Serbia from Australia. Regrettably, over the past at least 7 or 8 years, the service has become totally unusable. Simply put - it just does not work. The call starts normally with no problems for about a minute or two. Then without any warning or apparent reason I start hearing a replay of the conversation that I just had with the person. If I still hold the line open, I continuously hear the replay of the first couple of minutes of my conversation and I am forced to hang up and start again. In my six attempts over the past few days, I was not able to have a call of longer than 2 minutes before the above problem appears again. I have tried using both toolani app using android phone or using a standard telephone landline to no avail. More recently I tried also using toovoip but the result is the same. Meantime, toolani keeps taking my money. I reported the problem at least 6 or 7 times. Other reviewers have reported identical problems as well. The usual response I get from Toolani's David West is "We have sent this issue to our technical department and they changed the call routing for you. Please try to make your call again and let me know if it works now." The service simply does not work - as simple as that. I will be requesting toolani to return the credit I still have with the company.
2 ★It was working good for about a week. Now whenever i make the same call i used to make in china it tells me "the number you have dialed is not yet in service". When i dial it sends me to a new york number which gives me that error message. For now i switched to rebtel. I dial the same number & it works. Such a shame. Fix the new york number pls.
3 ★This app worked fine and rate was good initially, but it appears the rate went up and makes you recharge more often. What I hate about it is that sometimes when you dial a number from your contact, it asks you to enter the number you wish to call. It's so frustrating! I've not been able to place a call since 2pm today. I had to uninstall and reinstall thereafter. I hope it works this time.
4 ★I liked this app because its alternative to cell phone service. You still have to pay. But it's like a pay phone. You can call anyone you wish. And you get one free call. I didn't give it a five star rating because I think it could be improved. I didn't find it very attractive in style or color choice. But that's my opinion.
4 ★Surprised by how well this works. Never any issues with connecting. Only minor points I have are about the app itself, as it's a little unclear when the phone call is actually going through. And the numbers aren't saved in my call history either, which can be confusing.
3 ★Even though the quality of the calls wasn't that great , it worked till about 2 weeks ago. It connected on one call , but all I could hear was some noise instead of a voice. On the last call , it connected me to a wrong number but took money from my account anyway.
2 ★Recent time a lot of technical problems are emerging: certification failure; you can't know wether app is calling or not, you know only when some picks up; if the number calling to is not available, then one old lady (I think it's only automatic voice answer) answers in Russian language and you lose your money ( connection fee + one minut fee). No quick customer service
1 ★First time this company has been quick to fix a bug because it meant you couldn't add credit and therefore affects their income. Go figure! Experienced continuous long term bugs, often simple ones such as displaying character limit rather than losing all your data when you go to send. No response to request for refund.
5 ★worked fine, but since a couple of days i can't make phone calls to the Netherlands anymore from the USA. I understand they work on it, but how long will that take? also instructions to call to europe are incorrect for calls from USA. I will install a second app so i dont have to rely on them. UPDATE: calls to the Netherlands increased 2000%. But i found another provider. Reason for 5 stars is the very responsive costomer service and super fast credit when i cancelled my account.
5 ★Very clear, and fast
1 ★for hours I tried to place calls to Zambia to two different numbers only to keep getting messages in French and the line immediately cut. it rings and ring only to say try your call again later. Free test call is insufficient funds! But the worst part there is No Phone Support or phone number or any kind of support on weekends! it say support Monday thru Friday European Central time? it says money back guaranteed but it looks like a long wait!! wish they had put this info out front! not worth it
5 ★Was good but in last few days not working. Not for me and not for my partner. So it's not just me. We have different phones and networks. So it's definitely their fault. Could have fixed problem quicker. Edited: Fixed with update. Thanks for quick response. 5 stars from me :)
