3 ★The ads are a pain. When your trying to type a message an ad will pop up and after the ad is gone, your keyboard won't open for you to finish the messaging were typing before the ad appeared. You must go out of the spot and reopen. It takes a long time to this one text message this way. Ads appear every 1-2 minutes and I am not exaggerating. I recommend a different texting app if you need one. I'm giving 2 stars because it serves it's purpose, it just takes a long time.
1 ★I have been using this app on different devices for 8 years. This app used to be great but not anymorw. It's gotten worse. It's slow and lags really bad. Pictures don't normally send and have a hard time receiving them. Calls don't connect right and will disconnect randomly. Overall it's more of a pain to use so I'm looking for an alternative.
1 ★Paid for premium, which is supposed to remove ads. Still have ads after every call. Slow and buggy interface. Have an incoming call? No way to answer it without opening the app (which takes almost as long as most calls ring for). There's no call popup after answering either. If your phone isn't already unlocked and in use when someone calls, you can't realistically answer it. And the connection is usually very laggy. I average 2-3 seconds of audio lag. Utter dumpster fire of an app.
3 ★This app use's, what is called, "credit's". This is what is used in order to call and text. When running out of credit's, calls and text, will not go through. After running out, we have the option to either purchase more, or watch long video's in exchange for the amount of only, 1 credit. (One call, requires 3 credit's) This is not a bad app but, I would definitely suggest a different app in order to save time and stress less.
1 ★Sometimes the app signs you out, and will not allow you to sign back in for awhile. Also, as of late, when you make a call, you cannot.open the keypad, so if its an automated system with prompts, forget it, and just hang up, because there's no way to navigate through it without the keypad opening. Also, I needed a code that is sent via sms text, so I paid the $1.99 to view my text, my card was charged, but the app would not let me view the message.
2 ★I rated this app 2 stars. It does it's job. It let's you call and text for free but other than it's horrible. They want you to buy the premium so bad. You can't link any apps to it unless you have the premium. They make everything so difficult, e.g. to add contractsand other basic functions. I will not use them anymore. TextNow is 100 times better. I'm going to try out all these other free apps.
2 ★Have had this app for almost 3 years now on premium subscription. At first it worked splendidly but over time it's service got worse and worse. It may work for people to get a few credits and use it for leisure travel but for business use in which you need to make important calls or identity verifications it becomes a nightmare. Looking for a better alternative now...
5 ★Update on my original review: I've been using TextMe for quite a while now and I still LOVE it. I've never had a problem, no glitches, no dropped calls, etc...and compared to the others, TextMe subjects you to MINIMAL ADS that don't hold you up when you're trying to get to your calls and texts. That's just AWESOME! This app is definitely the best of its kind! Easy, convenient, and doesn't overwhelm you with excessive ads. Ive tried a few free-text apps and Text Me is #1.
1 ★Slow. When someone calls you it just has the number not the contact name. To many ads. When there's an ad and it came the same time as a text you might not see it then you have to look back above the ad. It works but its not a good. There is better. Also if you have someone send you a pic it goes right to your photos, and also videos. The videos are horrific when someone sends a video to you. Also you can not look back at people's phone numbers once you changed the name.
2 ★Ads are annoying & extremely intrusive. I understand the need for sponsors and ads when offering free apps. But ads pop up at ridiculous times. I've had loud video ads start playing during a call and refuse to pause or stop playing, this causes the call to drop. Or if it happens while you're trying to respond to a text, again refusing to pause or be stopped, then be prepared to lose everything you wrote. The app also will no longer send pictures, the recipient never gets them. All but useless
4 ★This app was a lifesaver when I lost my phone. It immediately gave me a usable phone for calls and texting when I installed it on my tablet. It even lets me attach photos to messages and has a nice voicemail feature. People complained that they could barely hear me, but I don't know if it was the app or my microphone. Contacts can be searched or sorted by first or last name. A nice unexpected feature is you can Export a conversation of multiple messages to a file, email or other destination.
4 ★It's great that with this app your cell phone can function even without a Sim Card installed. You only have to be connected to a WiFi network. Very reasonable monthly plans and prices. As low as $10. Decent connection most of the time, As long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection. Only annoying aspect of this app is that after every call a pop up screen appears and ask you to rate the quality of the call. If you rate the the quality of the call. I give this app a B rating overall.
