Kettle 3rd Generation (all models)
Easy set up for presets such as:
- Wake-up mode. Use this feature to boil your iKettle in the morning or during the day between your busy schedule to always have the kettle ready for the perfect cuppa.
- Home Mode. Have the iKettle boiling, ready for when you arrive home.
- Formula Mode. As a new parent, any help is appreciated. Formula mode boils the iKettle to 100ºC (212ºF) then cools to 70ºC (158ºF) to make formula milk killing any nasty bacteria that may be lurking. Visit WHO for guidance on formula feeding.
- Quick Boil. One tap setting to 85ºC (185ºF), 95ºC (203ºF) and 100ºC (212ºF).
Integrate the Smarter app with voice-activated devices such as Amazon Alexa, Google Nest Home, Siri and third-party apps.

2 ★Considering the price of the kettle and the good capabilities, I find the app very counterproductive and lacking usability shortcuts. I bought the iK3.0 mainly for the baby formula water heating. But a regular tea boil can come anytime, and the amount actions to change from "tea" to "baby" modes and temp is huge. I would like to have: - Be able to save actions in "profiles". Ex: "boil to 100", "heat to 40", "keep warm 40", "boil then cool 40*" accessible in less clicks. - As "baby formula" mode user, I'm in dilemma when configuring the base button default action. It'd be nice to add second action to that one button, as a double click or longer press (and leave the very long press for default reset as now). Grannies and nannies without app cannot boil a basic tea. Not cool. - No milliliters on water level. - Add widgets! Direct actions and saved custom "profile" lunch is also a must. My disappointment is currently balanced by the hope this post can change things. So I hope to get from you some good updates forecast :)
2 ★Love the app and functionality of it. However, we are unable to add a second user and it won't recognise the email address. We have checked case sensitive and spelling. No luck. Also, the alarm and home mode doesn't seem to be working. Have emailed support. Will update the review if we can get these issues sorted.
5 ★ikettle 3.0 Really pleased with how the app walks you through the setup process. Great help & support section in app to get you up and running on your Google home device. When asking Google to set boiling temp she says " sorry there was a error unable to control your device, but Google still changes the temperature anyway, not sure if thats a Google or Smarter problem? asking google how much water is left would be a good addition as this device as no auto cut off. Great app though 👌
3 ★"Alexa, put the kettle on" Stopped working about a year ago. It used to previously. "Alexa, turn the kettle on" still works but isn't the natural instinct to say. Basically I end up talking to Alexa twice and it's annoying. Why can't it accept both phrases? Why take away one?
1 ★Inviting other users simply doesn't work, which is a massive part of why someone might want a smart applicance. I suspect that the query for an invited user's email address doesn't even reach your database, as the code is bugged out and returns 'user not found' literally as soon as the button to invite is pressed. The app is generally very buggy and unintuitive, and I had to restart my phone several times just to get through the setup process.
2 ★Mediocre app for what is supposed to be an advanced kettle. Basic functionality works but no matter what I try I can't get any of the notifications to work. I have also tried using the IFTTT notifications triggers as a work around but nothing works. Disappointing experience considering the price of the kettle.
1 ★It says my email exists so log in with it. I try to log in and need to reset my password. Follow the links. Reset password. And it still tells me it is wrong
1 ★NOTE: None of this is from a caffeine deprived person.... If I could give this a zero star rating I would!! Coffee maker disconnected from home network weeks ago and after multiple factory resets, account resets and just trying to not throw the thing through a wall, it STILL will not reconnect to my home network!! Complete and total disappointment with an overpriced coffee maker that doesn't deliver on it's advertised promises!
3 ★Pretty disappointing functionality for a £130 kettle - The Google assistant functionality is a little too limited right now. You have to dig into the app to find out the water level on the kettle - would be so much easier to be able to ask Google what the level is. Implementation of a lock that doesn'tt allow the kettle to turn on when empty seems like a missed opportunity, too.
3 ★Nice looking app, but as with a lot of users I expect, I have one device. Really could do with the option to select a default location network and device or just bypass these selection steps for a one network one device user - currently it requires 3 clicks (2 unnecessary) after opening the app to actually boil the kettle!
2 ★I want the old version back! The teapot is not showing the water levels correctly and the calibration is not working... Bad update.
1 ★Kettle won't connect, light goes green for a second and then red again. Really poor app that does give additional support steps.
