Since 2015, Orfox has been the only mobile app recommended by the Tor Project to utilize the privacy protections of Tor on Android. Orfox is built from the same source code as Tor Browser (which is built upon Firefox), but with a few minor modifications to the privacy enhancing features to make them compatible with Firefox for Android and the Android operating system.
Orfox REQUIRES Orbot app for Android to connect to the Tor network.
In as many ways as possible, we adhere to the design goals of Tor Browser (https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser/design/), by supporting as much of their actual code as possible, and extending their work into the additional Android components of Firefox for Android.

How to install Orfox APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download Orfox APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

2 ★Trying to route certain apps only through orbot is impossible despite claims it is possible. There is no "left menu" as guides claim to do so to select apps. you either route everything, nothing or just orfox.
3 ★Ouch! Painfully slow. Yes privacy is very important to me too but come on.. well over a minute for the first connection results on a simple search..? Subsequent searches weren't much quicker. Hmm... i'll look at non US solutions like Qwant for searches mean time. I hate that we were all duped into selling our souls to Google - thankfully, people are catching on but sadly not enough. The speed problem is working against you big time. I will however keep an eye on dev. :-) keep up the hard work. I will revisit.
3 ★Ok so I am confused, why 3 separate tor apps in the app store ?didn't you need to use 2 separate apps originally can you explain ?
3 ★This is the best appp I've used even though Im first time user... But hopefully I love this app :> I edit this one because I was dissapointed Im just relocate the sites like fb I refreshed it then I didnt access any sites because of that so plss fix it
3 ★Come back to this app as Tor Browser no longer works as well as it used to. App doesn't close when "Exit" selected (so wondering if cache history cleared)
1 ★No https everywhere anywhere. It shows in addons page but it doesn't show in the menu anymore. Tried reinstalling it from firefox addons page and still nothing, then tried uninstalling and reinstalling from firefox addons and now it doesn't show at all after reinstalling the app. Is not the first device with the sameproblem i had. Also, it takes near 6 minutes for the addons to start, and an option for downloading with the app would also be nice.
4 ★The default start-up tab do not work, entering a url in the address bar give no result, this issue could have something to do with noscript add-on.
1 ★sometimes the app stop working and sometimes the search signal line not showing and the app is crashing. please update. and please give us newest Firefox version.
2 ★The application needs to update the user agent to 56.0a1! I was unable to install add-ons needed for me to surf safely (uBlock Origin and uMatrix), the last application update was on July 2, 2018? Take care of the application, thank you.
1 ★Here's a suggestion i thought you guys would be intelligent enough to clue in on, put the address bar at the bottom so we don't have to reach up with our thumbs. Seeing as the screens are getting bigger and bigger. Kiwi browser for the win.
5 ★It served me well before being sunsetted. Remember to use the new, stable version of Tor Browser.
1 ★I've got a fast wifi connection (100mbs). Using NORD VPN it's about (70). With this it took over 3mins to get to a speed test website. Literally unusable. Don't waste your time.
