2 ★Fingerprint login doesn't work. It says "login successfull" then it gives you a second error stating that it didn't work. The app quite literally contradicts itself. The app is buggy aside from that as well. Navigation isn't intuitive. There is no way to save progress or go back and forth in stages to price compare. You have to restart the whole process from the beginning. Just a really cruddy app overall.
1 ★App does not save my profile data that I have changed and saved changes multiple times. I tried to book rentals multiple times on different days, different types of cars but it always gives me issues. Why have an app that isn't function at all? An absolute waste of time to even search for this app on the app store. Do not download, you will regret wasting your time!
2 ★Disappointing App Experience. Made a reservation fine, but trying to extend rental, or make any other changes or even add a new reservation once you've done one with the app crashes it. "Technical difficulties" abound and it won't even recognize login info no matter how many times you delete and reinstall. This app has really not been great since it's release, and problems plague it. Not sure what other people are reviewing on here. When it works, great; but often, doesn't.
1 ★Once you start getting the error about 'experiencing difficulty' , the only way to clear it seems to be to reinstall the app. After doing this twice, trying to check in thru the app was a complete waste of time as after scanning everything , there was a notification of some internal error. This happened twice. Using this app is a waste of time. I'm on galaxy s10e
1 ★9/22/2021 Changing this from 3 to 1 star. Consistently getting messages that app is experiencing issues for weeks now. This is ridiculous. If it wasn't for my work, I'd switch to a different rental company. Limited functionality in app, Can't update my email address, so my itineraries keeps getting sent to my work email versus personal. It's annoying, since I don't always have access to my work email. I also keep get an error message when I try to share the itinerary via email through the app.
1 ★Update: Exactly one year (to the day) later & it's still the same "experiencing service issues, please try again later" error message. They apparently did nothing to improve the app. To Enterprise I go.... The app only works about half the time. It times out & then can't get logged back in. Keep getting error messages about Hertz experiencing service issues. So until the app is fixed, I'll be looking at their competitors.
1 ★This app is not very useful aside from getting some rates or making a reservation. It is pretty useless after that. I can't view my existing rentals or modify without having to find confirmation numbers through emails, etc. It should be tied to my account!!!! Even extending a rental is a chore. I end up calling in because it never works.
4 ★So far so good. I installed the app after making a reservation on my computer. I was able to log in with my Hertz number, and it immediately gave me access to my reservation without having to enter it. I simply clicked on an appropriate icon. The reservation shows all the details that I had requested. Strangely it showed me a refuel option to check even though I had already selected it. I consider this a minor blip because the field information was right in the display of the reservation.
1 ★The convenience is great especially with covid except for when you go return your truck. It would be very nice if the app actually let me upload the photo of my odometer and fuel readings which I tried about 10 different times and it wouldn't upload. That and the fact that there was an hour wait with customer service to try to resolve the issue is kind of lame.
1 ★I do not recommend the Hertz app to anyone. Bizarre login issues at first setup, such as on a new device. The app doesn't present information for my active rental in any form, unlike every airline, hotel or other travel app (including car rental, such as Silvercar) I use, which tend to put that info and related action buttons front/center in the main view.
3 ★The app appears to still be experiencing difficulties, will start, but logging in is not working, requesting your ID or trying to reset your password is not working. Is this a known issue, I see previous reports that you guys are reporting this internally, but this has been going on for awhile and there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgement of the problem... Edit: Appears it is sporadic, got it to actually login, I will remain cautiously optimistic for awhile, I'll update again when the situation improves
1 ★I am able to log in, and it shows my reservation, but the confirm # is different than the one in my confirm email, and when I try to modify I get an "oops we are having system issues" message... for days now. The website does not even show my reservation. Hertz Tochless app can't find it either. Clearly they have major software development issues. I am perplexed as to how they can accept a user experience such as this. App is essentially worthless.
