2 ★Been using GB for years now. I miss the old app before it was filled with ads and "features." All I want is fuel prices everything else is just an annoyance. I'm not giving you my Vin, bank account, or location data when I'm not even using the app. Sadly I haven't found a replacement app so I'm stuck with this one. Fortunately it's primary function of showing fuel prices still works hence the 2 stars. Thankfully the prices are usually correct too, which seems to not be the case for other users.
2 ★It used to be pretty good, not perfect, but it did what I wanted it to do. Now it's just a big promotion & advertising tool & location tracker. I understand using location to find nearest fuel. But I know where I am and which stations I wish to check. So it asks for location, I say no, over & over & over & over about 20 times, locks up or crashes, restart, same thing. Can't block permissions for when you need location. U.I. is more clumbsy than before. Gonna roll back to previous version.
1 ★Totally broken, app can't find servers, app crashed my phone as soon as I pulled it up. I am very experienced with Android btw. I had to put phone in recovery and clear cache and dalvik. Animations went extremely slow, app reset animations to default and I had to fix that. Never seen anything like this in 5 years of Android. Reinstalled app, same thing-couldn't find your servers and when I navigated around to try to activate my card it froze. Uninstalling and forget card I guess.
3 ★Great app for finding lowest gas prices. Sometimes, Drives doesn't record a drive; I may go somewhere, and only 1 leg of that trip is recorded; no other legs. So, not all the trips driven for a day are recorded. Also, distance seems to be off. I went somewhere across town, approximatlely 6 miles according to my car odometer and Google timeline/maps, yet, Drives showed it as 3.8 mi. Update: I have checked app settings. It is set to "Ignore Battery Optimizations".
1 ★The latest auto update is terrible. You can't see all the gas stations properly as before when just scrolling on the map searching along your route. It doesn't show any of the stations or prices anymore unless you zoom in. But it shows all the burger kings just fine. And then it auto zooms and centers when you click on one of the stations. Please go back to the old version or fix this quickly otherwise I won't use this app anymore!
1 ★In addition to crashing regularly (which I'm glad the developers acknowledge and are trying to fix), the app now shows me literally everything except gas stations. Meaning it actually shows me zero gas stations, but every hotel, restaurant, etc. Maybe they should call it ad buddy. I have used this app for years with no trouble but now I have to move on. I want to come back and I'll revise this review if it improves. Devs: I recommend going back to the old version until the new version works.
2 ★Not always works. Sometimes really have trouble signing in. Really like APP though. Will not sign up for gas card because security protocol has not been explained clearly. Have to know how my personal info is being protected. Need help in this issue. Note: GasBuddy is ineffective and lacks function. Some local users are playing it like a game. This is beginning to be an APP that can't quite get there. It needs to great. Great service when functioning correctly.
1 ★After the app was updated sometime ago, my Favorites with multiple locations by name disappeared. Use to be able to create a favorite with a name & include gas station in the named favorite. Since I travel to different location far away, I like to know prices before traveling. If there's a way to create a favorite by name it would be helpful Frustrating they've taken that away. Maybe it's available, but haven't figured it out. App keeps getting worst.
2 ★The prices a incorrect much of the time. I drove a few extra miles to save 20 cents per gallon as it adds up when buying 30 gallon each time, and even though it states the price was updated 15 minutes ago when I arrived at the station the price was 25 cents higher. The has happened on 3 occasions, so I deleted the app and am reinstalling to see if that helps. I have used the app for 8yr at least previous to these new circumstances.
1 ★Got it about 1 year ago. It was ok, not great. Now is useless. Current location screwed up. I'm in NYC, shows results in Australia. Typed LGA Airport (also spelled out) NY and gave a location near chicago. the flags cover the underlying map and can't see a thing UI is completely useless and on top location by address couldn't be more off completly useless as is. wasted 30min and finally uninstalled it.
1 ★I found that I could just as easily find gas doing a web search. The app is useful but spams you to death in both email and text messages. Even after unsubscribing from notifications they still send them. I don't want a gas buddy credit card, or any of the other come-ons. In app ads are fine and a fair trade for a "free" app. Email and text are over the line for me. YMMV. Removing the app.
3 ★This is a really nice app except for one glaring problem: it saves you money on gas, but eats your phone's battery like crazy. There are options in the app that limit its activtity, but until I uninstalled the app, my battery was nearly dead come evening. Maybe theyll figure something out later, but i had to uninstall, because i couldnt stand how it always seemed to be "on" despite me shutting down the app, limiting its battery usage, and refusing to open it for weeks.
