2 ★Not impressed with this app at all. pretty basic functionality but the real pain is that there seems to be some kind of lag or disconnect between when you pay the people you have booked with a deposit and what homeaway understands you to have done. For example i paid a deposit, then 1 day later got emails and messages via this app saying i still had to pay. Contacted owner who said I had paid, no problem. Got yet another homeaway message today saying last chance to pay! No help at all.
3 ★Many people have said what a simple app this is to use. It is. Until you want to find/search for a property. You do the filters (they appear to work but can't verify, tbh. ) BUT the big, bad apple is the searching by price! You have a slider to move from min price per night to max per night. Simple. Then you click "search". The first thing I do is sort them: Low price to high. All over the place. No order. AND I get prices well over and beyond my max price!!! Really annoying. Really. Please, sort
2 ★This review is about the app not the HomeAway service itself. The app looks slick and does contain everything you need to know on holiday. However, it refused to allow access to details of holiday properties unless it was online. This led to extreme frustration on our recent holiday since we did not have a data roaming plan in the USA (and many of the parts we visited did not even have mobile signal!). So getting to the property we found that we could not access the address or lock code (and of course could not get the wifi details to get those codes!). Therefore, necessitates finding wifi hot spot and writing the details down (or writing everything down before travel) which obfuscates the point of the app. The app will not be sufficiently mature until it has an off-line capability (even if there is a warning about when details were last synced and more uptodate information may be available). Do not rely this app unless you can guarantee you have a mobile signal.
1 ★Can't verify email and proceed to the app. "Resend verification email" reports success but the email doesn't arrive. The address is correct, it's not in spam. No support contact or link in the app. Will uninstall be and use the web site to manage my rentals. Don't bother sending support request to the address below. You'll get a reply that it's an unmonitored mailbox.
2 ★The app is actually really easy to use but it refuses to sort by price properly and regularly the price per night is totally wrong. Had one that said it was £92 on average but when I clicked into it it was £524 per night!!! This is even when I select specific dates. Makes it almost impossible to find places. If that worked it would be 5 star
2 ★not a great system, you get three different notifications(text,email and app) about messages even when using the app message option, and no way to change it,, even after opting out I still received, and prices fluctuated quite differently with the same information input, over ten minutes, also price was different from the website,, needs to be better contact options with property managers, it's very restrictive.
1 ★App not working any more and no replacement available. Since Homeaway has been bought, they force us users to switch to new Vrbo app. But when I try to do that it says "Vrbo app not available in your country" ...what is going on there? What country? I live in the middle of Europe. If it's not available here, I don't know where it is available! Fix this issue right away!!! This is totally unprofessional! You are losing revenue and customers because of stuff like this!
5 ★Vacation rental are commonly for relatives or friends that would like to stay for a vacation because they would lilke going to have bondings and get together in a certain place. This app has been reviewed and already booked by my friends.
1 ★This app is very unreliable. I keep getting 'error cannot send try again' when I try to respond to rental enquires about my holiday property. It is not a connection problem as I can read read my inbox from the dashboard, but I cannot reply. The app has been updated on my Samsung S7 but the problem happened again last weekend. This problem never happens when I use web browser on my PC.
1 ★I just spent hours thinking I had a reservation for vacation rental and charged on my credit card. I followed up with property Mgr and they DID NOT have the reservation. Not available. After calling Home Away and holding for 28 minutes, they did not have reservation even though they charged 3 hits for reservation, HA charge and fee totalling $318. This was so disappointing thinking we were booked. Booking additional car and flight with nowhere to stay. I've used this app previously.
1 ★I would put 0 star if the system allowed it. For many years I have used the Homeaway website and the app, which was basic but worked, but for several months now the app has been totally and utterly broken, it redirects to some Vrbo app which refuses to install in my country (France, but it does that no matter where I am). Seriously? Who has programmed that piece of garbage? And since this issue has been reported for many months now by a lot of users from various places, why don't you FIX IT ?
1 ★The worst customer service ever. I was waiting for an agent to connect for over 40 minutes, they connected and after just 3 messages disconnected and never came back, and i had to wait for 30 more minutes.. this happened over 3 times. Im just trying to get refund because the house owner cancelled the reserveration. And i cant get hold of them.. stay away from this app.
