Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★Nice app, but the feature that is stopping me to switch from Nextcloud is that I am not able to sync photos only when I'm charging.
2 ★Generally works but I opened a ticket a long time ago re: app hanging and crashing when deleting over 1k number of files (a few years ago). Surprised no one fixed this. Easy to reproduce.
5 ★Great app! Love being able to browse File Station from my phone or tablet on the go.
1 ★Photo backup doesn't work as I expected it to. The initial backup process finished and reports the 'backup complete' status. However, it didn't back up a number of more recent photos (~300 files). I found no way to tell the app to continue syncing. And when I take a new picture, it doesn't sync up. I cleared the app cache and restarted it. Now it started to sync up the whole folder from scratch - creating duplicates in the NAS shared folder.
1 ★Retarded app. Do I need a tutorial in order to copy a file from NAS to my phone ? The copy function allows me to browse the NAS only (for pasting), if I jump to local files, the "copy here" function is gone. Can you make it even more frustrating ?
5 ★Great NAS access app! I've been using this app for a few years now and never given me a problem. Fast access to ALL my NAS files where ever I am.
2 ★I did used to like this app, however since the latest update it no longer remembers where you were in the file tree. So if you are in a directory looking for something, and click into a sub folder, if you go back to the previous directory, it places you in a different location than where you clicked in from, making manual searches nearly impossible in a large directory structure.
5 ★Very disheartened after this last update the back button closes the app doesn't back you down through the menu.... I did not realize the update changed the way the main menu behaves. .. learning curve!! Works like a charm!
1 ★Photo Backup works only manually. They really need to figure out how to backup our files in the background.
1 ★I'd like this app a lot more if it didn't have these ridiculous, frustrating failures of logging in. Even worse, is the part where the automatic photo backup rarely works, at all, and even when it sort of works, it's *never* automatic (have to open app & log in). Also, the backup function inexplicably requires you to log in, even though you're already logged in, but mostly it just returns an Error/Connection Failed status on the backup, and no amount of resetting or restarting makes a difference.
4 ★It's a really good app, fundamental part of having a NAS. Uploading pictures from my phone is my biggest interest. The only flaw with this app is that it will not connect to my NAS on WiFi.. Whether its my personal WiFi same network the nas is on, or someone else's WiFi.. It just doesn't work, so the photos will only upload using me 4G data.
1 ★Uninstall and forget all DS apps and others similar offerings from Synology since they neither work 100% of the time against Synology's own NAS hardware. Just use a powerful file explorer like Root Explorer, etc, that offers connection via SAMBA. Sure, you may not be able to auto sync content with file explorers (you can do it manually though). You do, however, get everything else working with your Synology NAS like in-place editting, etc, and it works 100% of the time with a file explorer.
