**You must own a Synology NAS to run this app, and be running the latest Audio Station 6.0.0 package to get the complete set of features**
DS audio allows you to stream music stored on your DiskStation with your Android device wherever an Internet connection is available. Better yet, with the offline mode you can listen to songs stored in the device’s local memory for when no network connection is available. You can browse music by albums, artists, folders or genres, create your own playlists or share them with your friends, and even rate your music! And if you have dedicated stereo speakers at home, DS audio can also become a remote control to stream music to them.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★unable to see individual tracks. needs fixed Update': WHERE ARE MY SONGS I SAVED IN MY PLAYLISTS!!! GARBAGE APP!!
4 ★Good, but not great. Some people complain that songs take long to load - this is normal if you have an entry-level Synology with a no-name 1-core CPU and 512 MB ram. However, since I got a ds718 with a quad core Celeron and 2GB ram, the playback is very smooth. Also, you have to ensure that you have a decent upload rate if you stream on the go. My only major issue so far is that it *ends some songs too early* - it automatically jumps to the next song while it's halfway through the playback.
5 ★Until now would have rated the app as 5 stars but version 3.14.3 has problems. Artwork has gone missing from some music although it is still present in the music file and artwork is also being clipped. The problem can be solved by reverting to an earlier version of the app. Now solved thanks to excellent support from developer. Back to 5 stars.
1 ★Super slow, main reason my disk station is going to dump and music is moving to a qnap server.
3 ★Ah, this is frustrating!!!!! All I want to do is access my 11,000 tracks from my Synology server instantly from anywhere in the world without paying. That is actually a really difficult thing to do and DS Audio almost does it. However the link is not robust and it often reports the server as unavailable when I am standing right next to it. I have to go into settings to play on a different speaker and I have not been able to import playlists from Windows. Still, it does work.
1 ★App should read the song's Tag information, and edits to stars should save back to the tags on the songs. Next song takes a long time to load. Occasionally this app sends song data to my car's bluetooth but usually it doesn't. Not sure why it usually doesn't. This needs a lot of work. I use it in hopes it will get better, but less than 1 update a year -- I don't have much hope.
3 ★Gets the job done but could be better. It's great for accessing my NAS and my music, but some annoying things are I can't download a full album in the album search, but can in the recently added playlist or in folder search, it can't pause the download queue when I go off wifi, if the connection is lost it forgets my download queue and I have to read it. It's great if you like music on your phone and want to avoid streaming, but it doesn't make it simple.
4 ★Love my Synology DSM system, and this app, while plain, works. It really really needs a shuffle feature, because otherwise you hear the same songs at the beginning of the list, and NEVER hear the latter songs! (Updated...3-22-20) Either the last update included shuffle, or I just found it, because albums and playlists both now have shuffle! Hooray!
3 ★1. After some system update app doesn't see already downloaded songs which are still present in selected folder. Please fix it to pickup/reindex songs from download folder. 2. Can't select downloaded songs as separate playlist in Android Auto. The only option to play them in car is to add manually to playing queue each time. Super annoying. Please enable downloaded songs for Android auto. 3. Often crashes without any warning when downloading long list of songs from DS. Download queue is lost.
4 ★Works perfectly, with no buffering or delay. My only request would be that the album art and text on the playing now screen was larger. It can be tough to read when you're driving. I wish it was 50% larger text. 8/2020 update - I downgraded to 4 starts because you can not see music or personal playlists on Android Auto. All you can see are default playlists which are not very useful.
1 ★My 1st app review hoping Synology can read it. I have a NAS for MUSIC. 7 DLNA/UPNP devices throughout the house. OK for 2 years though app is VERY basic. Kept ripping my collection. 20k songs this is just unworkable. App takes for ever to sign up. IF it finds the streamers it freezes within few songs. Browsing music is slooooow. Album artwork hit/miss. Synology: test MinimServer with BubbleUpnp and see what a NAS can do! planning on changing platform: need managed lists, ratings, etc.
5 ★Mea Culpa, Synology audio app. I became frustrated with the Plex UI and decided to try DS audio again after my previous negative review. Either there have been big improvements with the app or maybe my wireless is more stable. I think the former. The app is much more stable now and very straightforward. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles I just want to select the song from my library and play it. DS Audio does that. Recommended.
