A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★The first content on my home is not my content but an ad for a streaming service I don't own. Upsetting or not, it makes the user experience worse by increasing the number of required interactions it take to access your content, since you must at least press "down" to skip the ad, all the time. If you have a young child, they can easily subscribe or pay for content without your consent just by tapping "ok" once the tv is on
1 ★I've been using Android TV since 2015 when I bought my Nvidia Shield, it was simplistic and responsive. Since the latest update they're now using a good chunk of my TV real estate for ads and have turned the UI into a chunky mess, the preview images on this page are misleading and show the old more desired UI. To add insult to injury, even if you disable updates they still appear to push it anyway so you can't get away from it
1 ★Update happens, don't notice because the device is installed in the family room and I don't use it much. Wife texts me one day, says our 4 year old is asking "what is that" about an ad that popped up for a drag queen show. Looking for new media solution as ads are not family safe. Thanks google, 0/10 would not bang.
1 ★Google made some really bad changes forcing ads onto the home-screen. This is not acceptable and the fact they force this bad update onto the NVIDIA shield is insane. Google needs to ad an option or a way to remove these ads as I never asked for this, I never wanted this, and unless this is fixed I would not get another Android TV device.
1 ★Android TV Home on my Shield TV was easy to use and I had it perfectly customized how I needed. My favorite aspect was how clean it looked and it allowed simple browsing between my apps without a bunch of bloat like Roku and Amazon Fire sticks I’ve tried before. The newest update changed all that. It is a gaudy cash grab that throws ads in your face and has no option for opting out. Really made me upset that unlike the previous UI version that had convenient ways to customize what I wanted to see or not see, this was being forced on me without my permission. Cannot state how extremely dissatisfied I am with this decision.
1 ★Very annoyed at the ads that have been rammed down my throat. Both my Sony TV and Nvidia Shield now show ads to services I don't subscribe to nor even have installed. I wouldn't mind if the ads were for apps that I had installed but they aren't. This brings into question an even bigger problem of me having paid real money for devices only to have Google decide to advertise on my devices that I paid for. I urge my fellow Aussies to lodge a complaint with the ACCC around this flagrant disregard for consumer's rights.
1 ★New update absolutely ruined my nVidia SHIELD experience. The ads at the top are bad enough (and every other recent 1 star review has talked about this so I won't bother), but even the core UI/UX is worse. From the home page I can no longer just go from a list of content from a source directly to that source (e.g. I look through the list of new YouTube subscription videos, then decide to just launch YouTube rather than any specific video) by pressing left, and instead now have to scroll all the way to the top to the favorite apps list to be able to launch it.
1 ★I purchased an NVIDIA SHIELD TV in 2016 and it has been an amazingly powerful and awesome device to stream content from my own server via Plex, as well as popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and YouTube. Earlier this week, a new update was released which now shows a massive advertisement across 1/3 of the home screen, which cannot be removed. I paid for a premium device, and for over 5 years, I was not subjected to ads and had a wonderful experience. Viewing the homescreen now, with this blatant cash grab plastered across my TV screen, makes me want to vomit.
1 ★I was shocked when I saw ads on my Nvidia Shield, a device that I purchased because I was under the impression that it was a premium streaming client for home theater systems. Now that Android TV will be showing advertisements, I can confidently recommend everyone purchase an Apple TV over any android offering. Congratulations Google, you've pushed me to an iPhone from Android, and now I'll be selling my Shield in exchange for an Apple TV, where I won't have to deal with ads on my own personal entertainment set up.
1 ★I've been a huge fan of Android TV for years. Spent nearly $300 on NVIDIA Shields to have the best streaming, ad free, multi-media experience. That was up until the last update. Now both of my TVs are giant billboards showing ads for services and content that I have zero interest. Looks like I will be making two media servers and selling both of my Shield Pros.
1 ★This new update has really made a mess of my shield. The home screen ads need to go. I couldn't be paid to care any less than I do right this second with the content you are trying to turn me to with your advertising, so why even do it? All this does is ensure I'll never click on, buy or visit anything you have forcibly pushed onto my screen.
1 ★Forcing ads to occupy the top 1/3 of my TV on the home screen is unacceptable! There no chance I'm subscribing to another streaming service, like AppleTV, simple because you are now scrolling ads across the top of my screen. I chose Android TV on an nVidia Shield a few years ago specifically because the interface had no ads and I could customize what I want and when I want it. I will no longer recommend AndroidTV until the ads you call "highlights" can be removed or hidden.
