Description

Google’s official phone calling app is now available to download for the first time. Phone helps you easily connect with family and friends, block spam callers, and know who’s calling before you answer – all with a simple, intuitive design.

Powerful spam protection
See warnings about suspicious callers that help you avoid unwanted calls from spammers, telemarketers and scammers. Block numbers to prevent them from calling you again.

Know who’s calling you
Google’s extensive caller ID coverage lets you know the business that’s calling so that you can answer with confidence.

No more waiting on hold 1, 5
Hold for Me lets you go back to your day. If a business puts you on hold, Google Assistant can wait on the line for you and let you know when someone is ready to talk.

Screen unknown callers 1, 2
Call Screen answers unknown callers, filters out detected spammers without interrupting you, and helps you learn more about callers you don’t recognize before you pick up.

Visual voicemail 1, 3
Check your messages without needing to call your voicemail – view and play them in any order, read transcriptions, and delete or save them right from the app.

Call recording 1
Record your phone calls to capture important information for reference later. Everyone hears a disclosure when the recording starts so they’re aware, and recordings are saved on your phone.

Intuitive design
Our simple, lightweight design keeps your favorite people just a tap away. Plus, switch to dark mode to save battery and reduce eye strain at night.

Emergency support 1, 4
See your current location when you make an emergency call, and share information about the assistance you require, along with your location, to the emergency operator without speaking.

Phone app is available on most Android devices running Android™ 9.0 and above.

Also available for Wear OS.

1Available only on some devices that have Phone pre-installed.
2Manual screening is not available in all languages or countries. For more information, see g.co/help/callscreen. Automatic screening is available in the US only, English only. Call Screen may not detect all spam calls.
3Transcription is available in the US only, English only.
4Available in Australia, United Kingdom and the US only, English only.
5Available in the US only, English only. Pixel 2+ devices only. Toll-free numbers only. May not detect every on-hold scenario.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★I have been having an issue lately where I will receive a call, the phone rings like normal, but my pixel 6 pro will not display anything on the screen. I am unable to see who is calling, even if the person is in my contacts. Edit: I tried the recommended steps by Google and it still does not show who is calling. I have to unlock the phone and click on the phone app while it is ringing to see who is calling. Very frustrating.
2 ★Blocked all incoming calls with upgrade to Android 14 and it was difficult to find if it was do not disturb or notifications or an old setting carried over from something previously. Call blocking is a great feature but it may be part of the issues. Switched on and off airplane mode, reset network, rebooted, sacrificed a chicken to...no I didn't go that far. Just hoping the phone will receive calls in the future as it is set to do. I like the Pixel 7 but this issue is persistent w/ strong signal
1 ★Gone from the only thing on a phone to the least used app on the phone to the WORST app on the phone -- Half the time, I cannot get TO the phone to control a call, to hit mute or press numbers. It is ridiculous how it hides or only shows portions of functionality. WTH!? Adding that Android Auto picks different bluetooth devices other than the car randomly. (Pixel 6. Updated. Rebooted. Memory cleared, etc. etc. etc.) [-1 star for Level 1 voodoo response]
2 ★I find this app unusual and somewhat suspicious. On my phone there is this app as well as another called "phone service". All of the notification settings are greyed out on my device so I cannot even change how notifications for calls are received. There's also an app called managed calls on my device which makes no sense (I paid for this phone and it should not be provisioned). I think some of your partners have misused your services and you owe it to the public to address these issues.
1 ★Won't allow me to select options by pressing number keys during calls and I can't download a different app or delete this one. Edit: it won't allow me to uninstall/reinstall the app. I've also tried restarting my phone and that doesn't seem to be working either. I cleared the cache, uninstalled update, reinstalled update. It's not working.
1 ★I own a phone and have no confidence I am getting all of my calls and voicemails. I will see a voicemail converted to text, reading the first line of the voicemail by notification, but then the text disappears and the voicemail will not play when I go to listen to the entire thing. The phone settings do not function correctly and change on their own after I've set them even though I have disabled all "learning/AI " features from every level of the phone. Disaster.
3 ★For some reason I can't get my phone to show when there is a call coming in. I have no way to answer it. It rings, there's a notification for a missed call as it's ringing, and im looking at my phone while calling from the other end and there's nothing, locked or unlocked. I've been through the settings and reinstalled the app, and did a hundred other things. Either my phone is crummy (a Gemini) or there is a glitch in the app? Also my voicemail eternally says "call to set up voicemail"?
1 ★I'm still having issues with the app where when I make or receive calls, the entire screen turns solid black and my voice becomes distorted and unintelligentable. Though, I can still hear those who I am speaking to. Again, this occurs at random but is fairly common. I've tried quite a bit to remedy this but to no avail. I suspect it could be a hardware defect since I haven't found any similar issues reported online. I have a Pixel 5a and this has been an ongoing issue ever since I bought it.
1 ★When initiating or receiving a call, the speaker button activates without your knowledge and placing the phone to your ear, causing your face to inadvertently touch the screen and disrupt the interaction. It would be appreciated if this issue could be addressed. I will now switch to the main phone app.
4 ★It's ok but why not a larger photo area in the app. When your in a call it's a dime size photo. They used to have a larger photo area for your contacts photo and it was rectangular, not a little circle. Don't know why it had been changed but think all would be happy if it went to the larger photo or something flexible to give you options. It works fine so far as call functions are concerned.
1 ★When I make phone calls on the Google Fi network, the call connects but there is no audio for either party. Video calls work fine but not regular calls. I worked with support for weeks and their final suggestion was just use my phone on Wi-Fi at home. Don't expect to be able to make phone calls outside your house. Glad I spent all this money on a Pixel 8 Pro. 😂
4 ★Incoming calls show as a small pop-up or full screen and show callers' name and number as configured. If you delete a call in the "Recents" tab, it deletes the entire history for that number instead of just that call entry. Call deletion is best done in the call history. App is a bit sluggish when answering calls. However, it works well and I'm enjoying it.
