楞嚴經簡介:
《楞嚴經》，又稱《首楞嚴經》、《大佛頂經》、《大佛頂首楞嚴經》、《中印度那爛陀大道場經》。全稱《大佛頂如來密因修證了義諸菩薩萬行首楞嚴經》。唐般剌蜜帝譯。10卷。此經的譯者為般剌蜜帝大師中印度人，居廣州制止道場，于唐神龍元年（705）從灌頂部中誦出，烏萇國沙門彌伽釋迦譯語，房融筆受，懷迪證譯。中國歷代皆視此經為佛教主要經典之一。清代，章嘉呼圖克圖等將其譯成藏文，並刊有漢、滿、藏、蒙四體合璧的《首楞嚴經》全帙。在日本，此經亦流傳不斷。
此大佛頂首楞嚴經原來是藏在龍宮；龍樹菩薩至龍宮說法，見龍藏中有此經，拜閱之下，歎為稀有，便將全經默誦下來，以利益閻浮提眾生；出龍宮後，便將此經誦出，記錄下來，呈給王家，王家也把它視為稀有之法寶，珍藏在國庫中，並禁止傳到外國。雖然此經尚未傳到中土，但其威名早已為大家所知；曾有一位梵僧，見智者大師所立之三觀，而告訴智者大師說與他們國中的楞嚴經之意旨相符合；於是智者大師便設了一個拜經台，西向拜經，但拜了十八年，終未得見楞嚴經（到現在，天臺山的拜經台還在）。
話說本經譯主般剌密諦，依於願力，要利益中土之人，第一次身上藏著楞嚴經東來之時，被守邊界的官吏查獲，而不許他出境，這反而更激發了他宏法之願，更加堅定，並且更加精進。他並想到了一個方法，可以將此經攜帶出境而不被發覺；他用極細的白絹書寫此經，然後剖開自己的肩膊，將經文縫藏在其中，等瘡口平復之後，再申請出國，海關搜查無疑，才得航海東來。大師于唐中宗神龍元年（西曆七0五年）到達廣州，那時正好首相房融被貶在廣州，房融便請大師住在制止寺，於是剖膊出經，譯成漢音，譯事完畢，便速回本國，以解除邊吏所受之難；由於譯主藏經出國，國王因此罪責守邊之官吏查緝不嚴，因此大師譯經完成之後，便速即回國，原以自身承當所有罪責。大師如此冒險艱苦，乃至不惜身命榮辱，正是所謂重法輕身，所成功德，不可思議；我國之眾生，均沾其法施之益。
