八十八佛大懺悔文:
至心念誦此文，至心懺悔，並按照此文要求去做，可以除滅一切重罪，不墮惡道，並早成佛。
　　本文是宋朝的不動法師定出來的。不動法師是梵僧，修行密宗的金剛部，功夫很深，所以也稱金剛法師。禮：禮拜，原定要頂禮108次，現在各寺院同法會，都改作跪念了。懺悔：悔恨過去的罪業，並求消滅過去所造的罪業，立願永不再犯。
　　從“南無普光佛”起，到“南無一切法•常滿王佛”，總共53尊佛的名號，出現在《觀藥王藥上二菩薩經》上，照經裡說，聽到這53佛名號的人，就能在百千萬億阿僧祗劫，不墮落到惡道裡去。能念這53佛名號的人，生生世世，常常可以見到佛。能恭敬頂禮這53佛的人，所有五逆十惡，種種重罪，一齊都可消滅。過去莊嚴劫的一千尊佛，現在賢劫的一千尊佛，未來星宿劫的一千尊佛。這三千尊佛，都是因為稱揚讚歎、恭敬禮拜這53佛，所以能夠早成佛道。
　　從“南無釋迦牟尼佛”起，到“南無寶蓮花•善住•娑羅樹王佛”，共35尊佛，都出在《決定毗尼經》上。一切眾生，如能頂禮這35尊佛，哪怕五逆十惡等等種種重罪，都可除滅。
　　“南無法界藏身阿彌陀佛”，一切佛的心性，都包藏著一切法界，所以叫法界藏身。獨把這法界藏身四字，加在阿彌陀佛名號上，是表示要把禮拜稱念88佛的功德，回向極樂世界，莊嚴淨土，求願往生。
