Description

Bay Wheels is the Bay Area’s premier bikeshare system, and one of the largest in the nation. Get access to thousands of bikes and see public transit schedules around you in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and San Jose. Best of all, it’s available 24/7.

Bay Wheels consists of a fleet of specially-designed, sturdy, and durable electric bikes that can be accessed throughout the Bay Area, as well as classic bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations in Bay Area cities. Our bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. Bikeshare is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city.

The Bay wheels App gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going. You can also get walking directions and see public transit schedules to help you easily get to bike stations.

The Bay Wheels App also shows upcoming public transit departures, including BART trains, Caltrain rail lines, the Tamien-San Jose shuttle, MUNI buses, MUNI Metro light rail, MUNI cable cars, MUNI trolleys, AC Transit Local & Transbay buses, VTA light rail, VTA Local buses, VTA Rapid buses, VTA Express buses, VTA ACE shuttles, Golden Gate Ferries, Sonoma County Buses, Sonoma County connectors & shuttles, SF Bay Ferries, the Angel Isl. Tiburon Ferry, the SMART train, Marin Transit buses, SamTrans Local & Express buses, Stanford Marguerite buses and the SFO Airtrain.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★I love the service and am happy to take excellent care of the bikes. Especially love that they have a membership option for low-income folks. My suggestion would be to do as Revel does with their mopeds and instead of issuing a fine after the fact, alert riders and prevent them from ending the ride if they are parked improperly. I always appreciate the heads up from Revel, but since I use the bike in order to work, when I can't pay fines I can't earn money to pay bike fines. Feel sad.
2 ★I loved this service, but it started being unusable in the Alamo park area with the lack of bikes and absolutely zero station refilling during the day or overnight
2 ★Love the service. My app changed to Spanish and there is no option to update the language. No idea how to change it back, or why it changed in the first place
1 ★The support staff is very poor and they have no options of resolving a problem. If they don't have an option, they will not even refund the money back because of their lack of options.
1 ★Bay Wheeks has been removing their newer E Bikes in San Jose. Leaving the older E Bikes (which do not work, so you pay more for what is in truth just a regular bicycle), and regular bikes. There is also almost never an available slot at any of their docks. I was at the Convention Center yesterday and every dock was occupied by a regular bike. Not even an older ebike. On a number of occasions I have either had to return to where I got my bike initially and just return from where I started
5 ★had a nice e-bike ride in the rain. it was delightful.
1 ★I originally loved this service but Lyft has absolute garbage customer support. Multiple times they've made incorrect charges on my account and they are unwilling to listen and understand my issue and make a correction. There's no way to escalate my complaint to get it resolved. And sadly Lyft has a monopoly over SF bike share, so sadly I'll have to continue using it. Today I was with my bike stopped at a park for 5-10 minutes and they suddenly ended my ride without giving me any warning!!
5 ★Looking forward as first time user
1 ★The app and service are fine overall, pricey, but the convenience is what it is. 4 stars there. That being said, outside of downtown, bike availability is ABYSMAL, and what bikes are left after about 8:30am are usually the ones that people skipped over for having poor battery, bad brakes, a damaged seat, or any of these other reasons. If Lyft/BayWheels can really demonstrate ACTIVE replenishing of bikes in the Western half of the city, I would happily give a high rating, but as it is, 1 star
1 ★Bike angels points change relative to zoom levels of the map. Either background refresh is not working, or there are two datasets displayed depending on the zoom level. Unrelated tip: add road height as darkness of route color to easily differentiate easy to pedal routes (non electric) vs hard to pedal routes (that would benefit of electric). Should increase usage of non electric bikes. Should also provide data to you guys to know what stations need what kinds of bikes.
