A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★Want to get used to a new Google messaging app every couple years? this is it! Want to have the design and layout of said application change every year? Yessir! Want useful features that functioned fine to be over engineered and redesigned and also changed and moved and adjusted to do something different entirely? You guessed it! Want to download photos only for them to not appear in your gallery because the layout and manner in how images are downloaded has changed? This has it all!
1 ★I wish they would quit what they think improving it for the ones that was using the original hangouts version. They just keep messing it up after you get use to it. They go and change the conversations from side to side, change the colors that are easy on your eyes when you have eye problems to something that you can't hardly see at night or bright sunlight. It would be nice if we could go back to the dark theme like we chose to begin with.
2 ★Great for what it is, you can direct message anyone using an email and it is very easy to navigate. I've been using it everyday since early 2022, I'm writing this review to point out some major issues the app has had in the past few weeks. Messages now take 2-10 seconds to send in the app causing an annoying lag, the messages received show up as notifications but don't show in the app for a few seconds, and when someone sees a message it causes the previously sent messages to "jump". Please fix.
1 ★Google is shooting itself in the foot by killing everything that actually worked. Google Chat is a copy-pasted version of Microsoft Teams. Not a single unique thing about it. That would be all well and good if they weren't killing Hangouts to make it! Hangouts was never great, but at least it was meh. Google Chat removed the side separation of chats, doesn't allow you to send more than one image at a time, you can't scroll between images, and in general is not a personal communication app. Bad.
4 ★While it's been a bit of a bumpy ride coming over from Hangouts, this new platform has gotten very stable. It's very consistent, and pictures/videos have been sending without a hitch now. I would however like to note that since Android 12 was installed on my 4a, the "Notification Sound" category in settings disappeared and Chat sound went back to system default. You can see it for a split second before it disappears when entering settings. Please fix.
1 ★The notification system is awful. If you miss the first notification, all subsequent messages are silent. There's no way to be notified on each message. EDIT: The dev response did not help. I am getting a SINGLE notification per conversation. The app only makes a notification sound on the first message since you last checked the app. If you get any other messages after that, you do not get any sounds and will miss them. There is no setting to change this. I am very disappointed in this app.
1 ★Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Forced to download this app with the elimination of Hangouts. After agreeing to switch I couldn't even open the chats! This app is terrible. Notifications don't work. I literally have a message I can see unread on my computer but still no phone app notification. I've changed all the settings, restarted my phone and nothing. These bugs need to be fixed.
1 ★You can't call or video call through it, which was a large part of why I used HANGOUTS. Hangouts also had easier methods of adding photos. This sends poor quality versions. Hangouts also had easy icons for it's features which made it accessible for those with disabilities or for those who are older, this app fails that. This is a business app. It shouldn't be pushed to users wanting to connect. This, in comparison to Hangouts, looks amateurish.
1 ★Massive Mandatory Downgrade All the messages are left-aligned, without any bubbles (or *customizable* formatting, which should be the standard) to help differentiate individual messages. I'm skeptical this wasn't brought up during earlier testing. Whatever they're trying to get by forcing people to switch to this, they don't care enough about it to make this app useful. (LOL. They also thought it would be neat to have a bot auto-reply to every review with a uniquely unhelpful response.)
1 ★In it's current form it's extremely buggy with limited options on the mobile. No way to change notification sounds, incoming videos don't always play and ask to open a secondary player. Also, no notifications when using Android Auto at all. Edit. As I stated. The issue of no notifications is when using Android Auto. This is not an issue with Hangouts (what you are transiting from) or Messages as both still work. Thank you for taking the time to not read my review before responding.
1 ★Unfortunately, Chat is a substantial downgrade from Hangouts. Functionality, convenience, and an intuitive UI are all gone. I used Hangouts on all of my devices. I have been trying to do the same with Chats. It's been a struggle. Notification settings, including the ability to just get instant notifications (sounds), is a far cry from what Hangouts offered. Message syncing appears to be delayed. The list goes on. Honestly, I am dumbfounded at why Google replaced Hangouts with Chat.
2 ★It's like they took Hangouts and thought "What if we just made everything a little bit worse" Can only send one photo at a time, chats are indistinguishable from eachother, can't save photos by holding down on them anymore, grouptexts & individual texts are separated (which could be good for some, but it's a pain imo), and you can't even just call or video chat someone anymore. I like the dark mode and @ing features, but that's about it. They tried to fix what wasn't broken.
