Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★So before this new app update I had zero issues now I can't even log into my account to control the bulbs because when I try to input the new verification code they send it always says it's the incorrect code when it's exactly what they sent this is terrible EDIT Update 6/22: Company reached out and added a fix for the issues with the log on and all is well now.
1 ★This is actual garbage, the app was somewhat usable before, even then my lights would just randomly disconnect and stay stuck on the color I last left them on, i cant even reset them now so they've been purple for the past week while I've been trying everything to get them to reconnect or reset and they wont.
2 ★It works with the smart light bulbs, however it's impossible to make it work for the smart plug. It's a brand new plug, and I did some factory reset between some tries. It stays on the connecting page after inputting the wifi credentials. I tried with 2 different wifi networks, both 2ghz, with no success. The initial Bluetooth connection seems to work as the led can turn green, but it's really the wifi one that doesn't work. Edit: It's 2 meters away from the router, with no wall between them
5 ★**second review** Love the new theme and dark mode... I esp like the wallpaper choice option. The only other suggestion i have is maybe double tap a lights box to turn it on and off. Besides that great work on improving the appearance and functionality so far. Also noticed it does not maintain bluetooth connection when the app is in the background, huge battery saver from the original. **original review** Simple and easy to set up. I really wish the app had a dark mode as the white background is just too bright for my eyes.
4 ★UPDATE: this new app update seems to have fixed my connection issue connected to Google Home now. Thank you 😊 - Worked just fine until this changeover, now it lost connection to Google Home and will not reconnect ! added from one star to two because of response thank you, when issue is resolved will reevaluate.-
1 ★Does not sync with Google Home. Ironic considering the new name. The Home link only has the old C by GE app available to link, and when I try using that one, it says there are no devices in the C by GE app. Well duh, that app doesn't exist...but apparently neither does the new one. Tired of turning my "smart" light on and off by hand. It's been almost a year since it stopped working under the old app and I had such high hopes for the new one. I'll go back to my much cheaper Geeni lights.
1 ★Update removed sunrise/sundown functionality, which is literally the only reason I bought these (Google Home doesn't yet have this function). Getting rid of this means I'll be getting rid of these bulbs. The previous app wasn't perfect, and the new one has a cleaner look, but when you take away features, that's a step backwards.
2 ★I'm updating my review for the new app. An improvement is that I was actually able to set up my lightbulbs and update the firmware in the app. The bad news is that the Google Home and Alexa linking are both broken. I was hoping that the revamp of the app would improve this product, but it is still lacking basic functionality.
3 ★The new update Cync, improve connection a lot. The old version struggled to connect, sometimes I have to restart my phone & app when the app not connecting, & when neither restarting the phone and app do not work I had to unplug the smart devices. While the update looks better, it need a little more polishing and organization. I am please that the update can dim my direct connect smart bulbs. 💡 the scenes, I find no clear explanation/instructions on it use. I try to set up one and delete it.
2 ★Prior to the update, I had maybe a few connectivity problems occasionally when trying to turn my smart bulb on/off. After the latest "rebranding" and update, I now have to press the on/off button on the app repeatedly just to get the bulb to function. The connectivity is significantly worse. The new UI is confusing. Setting up "scenes" is less intuitive than just being able to see a list of your presets for different on/off times. The legacy UI made more sense to me.
4 ★Just received the new Cync update. So far it is a big improvement. Firmware updates are greatly improved. They will still fail a if you do not turn off most of the other Bluetooth devices in your house before attempting to update. The fact that they only update one of the time is a major improvement. Simultaneous updates in the old version were awful. I will add more as I try more features in the new app.
1 ★The old app was bad, but the new update is infinitely worse. I can't control any of my lights from it or Google Home now. I had to delete and reinstall the app as well as factory reset all 7 lights and my C-Reach just to get the app to be able to see them. Now that they're supposedly connected, I can't control a single one. One bulb won't update its firmware, and the app just doesn't see one of the other bulbs. Will NOT be buying more. Going to stick to Hue which actually works.
