The Map doesn't move/points in the wrong placeMake sure you haven't switched into manual mode. Does your phone have a compass? If not, Sky Map cannot tell your orientation. Look it up here: http://www.gsmarena.com/

Are there any magnets or metal nearby that might interfere with the compass?
Try switching off "magnetic correction" (in settings) and see if that is more accurate.
Why is autolocation not supported for my phone?In Android 6 the way permissions work has changed. You need to enable the location permission setting for Sky Map as described here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?p=app_permissons_m
The Map is jitteryTry adjusting the sensor speed and damping (in settings). We have a better solution coming soon!
Do I need an internet connection? No, but some functions (like entering your location manually) won't work without one. You'll have to use the GPS or enter a latitude and longitude instead.

How to install Sky Map APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download Sky Map APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.google.android.stardroid-v1.9.6.apk)
- Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

5 ★Initially I thought it was broken, but then I realized GPS defaults to 0°, 0° with accuracy of like half the circumference of Earth. Anyway it would be nice if there is an error saying low GPS accuracy instead of showing the wrong sky.
5 ★This is an awesome app. I installed because my kids was asking about stars and planets. This app describe accuratly with precise direction. I am very thankful to the developer of Sky Map.
3 ★Can't tell what I'm supposed to be seeing. Display moves as I move the phone, but can't relate what I see with display. Don't know whether it's the app, or me, or my phone, or the light-pollution, or what. Maybe this app is for better-informed amateur astronomers.
5 ★I blow everyones mind with this app INCLUDING my own everytime I use it. I have used this app years ago and forgot about it until I needed to fogure out what star we were looking at. I downloaded this and notoced they were updating it again and I love it! Recommend it!
3 ★Its fun for stargazing but not so ez to use. The icons need literal tags and l needed but didnt find the full 🌕 in the app, which on 10.30.2020 wldve been a quick way to pair the app with the actual night sky.
1 ★It won't calibrate properly can't use it at all I've had this app for a long time but when I got a new phone and downloaded this app I'm having all these problems I hope it can get figured out I love this app it used to work perfectly now it doesn't do anything
5 ★I really like this app a lot... It's fun and shows the correct location of celestial oblject; including the moom, plantes, stars and constellations. Also very useful for studies
5 ★My favorite sky map app. Just point your phone at different parts of the sky to update the sky map. Search for a particular celestial body, and it will display arrows on your phone screen to guide you to the right direction. Very simple to use. And it takes up just 5 Mb of space on your phone, not like some other apps taking up 100+ Mb. Thank you developer.
5 ★I love this app I've been using it for years and it has not disappointed me at all, you can view the planets the constellations and everything else expected in a sky view map. This is the one map you got to have. Because the other apps if you read the critical remarks about them all of them do not work except this one and I have an LG G7 Slim. Great app and i would recomend it to anyone. The adds dont even disrupt your viewing pleasure, they are very small and at the very bottom of the page.
5 ★Fantastic app. Only thing that would make it better is if it could tell you when the milky way will be visable (for photography)
3 ★No longer works on my Asus. I can zoom in and out, but not move the map automatically or manually.
1 ★The moon was there in front of me and it showed it somewhere at my feet. Remove this app, had to face embarrassment(informing people about levaraging technology these days) with it. It shows junk data. Its better to see a pictorial representation and assess by instinct about positioning of objects.
