Description

A new WiFi Direct solution (free update) is now added to PdaNet for connecting computers or tablets in addition to USB tether. The legacy WiFi Hotspot solution remains in FoxFi. If the legacy FoxFi feature still works for your phone, it is still the best solution for sharing phone Internet since there is no limit on what kind of devices you can connect.

======(New)WiFi Direct Hotspot=======
This new WiFi Direct feature in PdaNet 5 allows you to connect WiFi mode from computers or tablets. However unlike the old WiFi Hotspot, it will require you to either install PdaNet on the connecting computers/tablets or set up proxy settings. Use this feature if you are no longer able to turn on WiFi Hotspot, or if your WiFi Hotspot usage is being metered when you already have an unlimited data plan.

======(Legacy)WiFi Hotspot=====
Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later no longer allows the old WiFi Hotspot mode even for Verizon phones. Please refer to PdaNet instead for alternative solutions.

Due to lockdowns through each phone system update, the old WiFi mode will only be allowed on a short list of compatible devices. As of 11/2016, IN GENERAL:
---Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later no longer allows WiFi mode even for Verizon phones.
---Verizon Samsung phones (S3/4/5/6/7/Edge, Note 2/3/4/5 etc.) , Verizon LG phones (V10, G2/3/4/5 etc.) and Verizon Sony phones (Z2/Z3) are supported by Android versions up to Android 6.0/6.1.
---Verizon HTC phones (M7/8) will only work on Android 4.1 ~ 4.4.
---Verizon Motorola phones will only work on Android 4.3 or below.
---AT&T Samsung phones will only work on Android 4.2 or below.
---Other carriers/phones will only work if they still have Android 4.0 or below.
---Straight Talk phones will only work if it uses Verizon and are compatible with the above.
---For all other phones, use USB mode or Bluetooth mode instead.

*To get around lockdowns on WiFi mode FoxFi may prompt you to install a certificate on your phone, this will cause the Android system to enforce a screen lock and show a security message in notification. For more detail and steps to remove screen lock please visit http://pdanet.co/wifi.
*If you receive a message asking for a "password for credential strorage" this is due to a bug in the Android system. Please see steps to clear this message at http://pdanet.co/wifi

Free edition will turn off after timed usage limit but you can turned it back on, otherwise it is same as full version.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★been a user for almost 8 years. from teathering of PDAnet+ to the addition of FoxFi and had no complaints until now. Verizon has forced an update to my phone and the app has been blocked from use. I have more than gotten my money's worth from this app but now that it is blocked im finding myself needing it more than i used to and i no longer have access. if you guys get it fixed i will 5star the app again but as long as its down im not changing my position.
1 ★All it does is tell me internet is not detected on my phone and then uncheck The Box by itself. The internet on my phone is just fine
1 ★Both the wifi and usb tethering don't work. I have newer android phones with the hotspot feature built into the OS. The provider doesn't allow the tethering. How does the provider know I. trying to tether when using this app? Please fix this since the providers are deciding HOW we can use our data and CHARGING us for using it on peripheral devices.
5 ★In my opinion you took a perfectly good app and made it better however you could have done a little more in respect to the setup aspects in regards to the wiping out of the present setup information that was in place man that really tick me off having to go through all that set up again.
5 ★I live in a rural area with almost no options when it comes to broadband internet besides satellite (if you can even call that garbage broadband). After multiple trials with hotspots it all ended it flames. I am ecstatic my friend recommended this app, I use it to watch YouTube and play runescape through tether using only mobile data!
5 ★great i have used pda net sense way back with slide out keybord phones. way before hot spot was born. and it took a little bit of feness back then to get it to work. these days its a cake walk. download on the phone and install to pc and the usb teather has never let me down. always works amazing. the way att changed the plan to the 65 dollar plan. makes the teather unlimited 4 g. its fast and depends on how good the phone is to o noticed over the years.
5 ★works really well, although i only use the usb feature with PDAnet on another computer, when Charter internet goes down. saved my butt quite a few times. Its worth the money for the pro version if your isp goes down a lot and you require internet for a job.
1 ★On first try the app told me my phone cant run the wifi hotspot i hear use usb Ugggh..
1 ★Used this on my old phone for years and it worked great. Started right up and then connect any device to it via WiFi. Bought a new phone and now I have to have an app on the other device to use it. It is useless for fire stick/Roku devices. Very disappointed.
2 ★Stopped working on my Galaxy S7 as of 8/25/19. Still works on our Galaxy S6. Emailed company for help, no response as yet. Otherwise we have LOVED this app. Update 9/2: it has now stopped working on our S6. It was a good run. Got free internet for a few years.
4 ★Works as advertised. Have a Verizon locked phone that prevents me from using hotspot. Damn these greedy carriers. This app fixed it and it works perfectly
4 ★I used 000i t for years. I loved when it would rought your texts from your phone to the PC or laptop screen. never had an issue with any of the carriers I have used. I would use it again if the message would go back to the pc/laptop
