ClockworkMod Tether does not require root on your phone and does not require a separate tethering plan. Tether should work with any carrier and phone and does not require a carrier's tethering plan. To get around the root requirement on your phone, Tether will need to install a virtual network adapter on your computer; so there is a PC side install.
1) Install this application on your Android phone!
2) Install the Tether software on your PC. If your PC currently has an internet connection, you can download it here:

Windows: http://download.clockworkmod.com/tether/TetherWindowsSetup.msi
If your PC does NOT have an internet connection at the moment, start Tether for Android and use the Help button to easily download the PC software to your phone. You can then copy it to your PC and install!
Windows users will also need to install the USB/ADB driver for their phone. Tether's setup process will assist you through that step by step, or you can use the link below!

If you have problems with Tether, please try the following first:
Disable Firewalls and Antivirus software.
Make sure you area not connected to the internet on wireless or ethernet.
Make sure you are using your OEM's USB data cable (and not just a charge cable).

Tether speeds slow?
Your USB speed is limited to the speed of the *slowest* peripheral you have connected. It is recommended you unplug any unnecessary/slow USB peripherals to get maximum Tether speeds.

Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page

- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads

4 ★I have used EasyTether for a while and it works fine on my Motorola and LG devices, but keeps disconnecting on Samsung devices. This app stays connected once you can get through the setup and install the ADB USB driver for the phone on your PC. I don't know why. And it's half the cost of ET and doesn't require a registration key like ET. Why not 5 stars? Because I never got any reply when I tried to contact the programmer/support when I had trouble getting it to work. Also, there is no way to stop the program except using Force Quit/Stop from the Android Apps option. I don't want it running all the time when I am not using it.
5 ★Awesome app even includes the install for pc within the app itself so when you plug in the computer you just pull the install from file in phone
5 ★This is the only app that I could get to work on my Moto G6 phone. Ihsd to do some web searches to make it work. Finally, I got the t confirmation that I was connected.

1 ★although the app itself just works, there are several major issues with this now: - the author no longer seems to be responding to issues on the app - the downloads are being hosted on an insecure (HTTP) site, so there's verification the source is genuine. I'd be very wary of downloading the binaries as the source is not open now. - the linux build is now broken, as the engine is written using a VERY outdated version of nodejs, and any CPP flags used does not get around the issues nicely, and the built artefact still doesn't run As much as I would like to use this product, I'd recommend to stay away.
5 ★It's a nice fix when an Wi-Fi adapter, ethernet, or USB tethering isn't available, and works for me on newer and older phones. Works well for online gaming also. The only complaint I have is sometimes the speed drops with no explanation but clearing the apps cache on the phone speeds it back up. Maybe someone with more knowledge can figure out the cache issue. Other than that, I appreciate the work ClockworkMod has done and I use this app almost 24/7. Thanks a bunches!
5 ★Being on ST they do not allow tethering or hotspots and I could not even turn that feature on am on on my s9 plus. Then I downloaded this app and BAM! I am online writing and surfing the net with no trouble at all!!! I love it so much I bought the pro version. They really deserve to be paid for this!!!!! 5 Stars. Wonder if it works? Yes it does! Just download it and try it. You will love it to.

3 ★The program works good. It connects my PC to my phone (Galaxy S8) to use the internet service as described, no root needed. However the program won't stop appearing over the top of any open app as soon as the device is connected. I turned off the app permissions for notifications, contacts, phone and storage and it acts like a virus by popping up and forcing itself over everything. I will use it only when desperate for internet on my PC unless there's a work around I'm not seeing.

3 ★Been using for a couple weeks. Although I appreciate what it does (quite well).. The phone app stops working (Samsung S7) every so often and/or the computer app (Mac) eventually stops working.. Both sides needing to be quit out and restarted multiple times throughout the day. If it wasn't randomly crashing or just plain stopped transferring data several times a day, I would say it was a 4 or 5 star app.
5 ★Works like a charm. I share the connection with the ethernet on my laptop hooked to my xbox 1 and I'm online all month without using my hotspot/tether data at all. Thanks.
