Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★The Economist has great content, but the app is so awful. Articles take forever to load with no indication they're loading, so you're never sure whether your tap of the screen registered. Downloading issues for offline reading (e.g. when on an airplane) doesn't always load all the content for graphics-heavy, so you can't read those articles. It's like they tested the app on a high end laptop without any regard for the actual capabilities of people's phones
2 ★App is so slow it seems broken. I'm amazed how long this app has been awful and apparently nothing has been done to fix it. It takes ages to load at startup, any article takes several seconds to respond, even offline with a downloaded edition! Often a completely random article appears. Given its commitment to electronic media, you'd think the Economist would optimise the app for a better user experience. Great content is it's saviour, but my patience with the delivery is running out.
4 ★Please do add a short snippet of what each article is about into the feed view - while I appreciate creative headlines and names for the rubrics, even combined together they all too often don't give a solid idea of the article contents - having to click through each just to decide which ones I want to read is so frustrating. love the app otherwise - thank you for setting a standard with providing audio versions which other publications have followed.
2 ★So... I haven't actually *read* an issue of the Economist in years - with the exception of the Graphic Detail and the cartoon. But I have *consumed* every issue in that timespan via the app's audio feature. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE AUDIO? Even after 'downloading' an issue it still stutters, stops, seems to buffer when starting playback. Amazon Music, Spotify, Youtube, Netflix, etc no audio problems. Economist app - nothing but audio problems. PS using the latest version, per Android Play store.
2 ★Why has the audio playlist of yore vanished? So great for exercising and driving! Now, in this new upgrade, you just get one listen at a time. I also have the so-called Legacy Economist App with an audio player that is downright confusing and a mere shadow of the original (which worked quite well!). These changes are rendering the audio subscription to a value of nearly zero! To enjoy Economist each week, I 'used' to select my reads, make a playlist, and listen. No more, the list vanishes!
2 ★When audio playback is on pause, even when screen is off, it prevents the phone from deep sleep and totally depletes the battery. Podcasts and music apps don't do this when on pause so it's fixable. And same exact issues as old app re: clearing the playback notification on the lock screen (like Spotify and most other audio apps) and rewinding 15 seconds in the lock screen (like you can do in iOS app) Hope you guys get it together. Loyal reader for 10 years that's been starting to look elsewhere.
4 ★Generally I like the app but I have two complaints that could rather easily rectified. 1. The app only stores data to the principle device. This can often be several gigs of data as well. Easy fix: Allow for app data storage to internal/expansion SD card. 2. Notifications are often interesting, but can be hard to find if not used as a notification link. Easy fix: have a tab or list in the app that allows the reader to select articles based on the Notifications they have received.
1 ★I hate how forcibly The Economist is pushing this new version of the app. 6 months ago it (rightly) had 3.2 stars, but now somehow has 4.7. The old app was much better for creating audio playlists, so I have continued to use it until today. They are crippling the old version of the app by logging you out automatically every week, and now forcing pop-ups to push the new app. If they only spent half as much time fixing the problems with this version, maybe it would be worthwhile to transition.
1 ★The Economist itself is stellar, both with regard to content, and in the audio edition the quality of their readers. The app continues to be a major problem, most recently because it is so slow. When you push a button, nothing will happen for several seconds, if you're lucky, or otherwise for a minute or more -- There's no way to tell if the program has frozen, is loading something, or ....?? I love The Economist, but I hate this app!
2 ★Great content ruined by horrible app. Some of the functionality has slightly improved over the past few years, but the app remains as unstable as ever on both Android and iOS. I've been using smart phones since before the first iPhone was released and I have never experienced a less stable audio app. It constantly crashes, and when it reopens, it almost always resumes playing from a much earlier article instead of correctly resuming where I left off.
1 ★What I want was to read the weekly magazine in my phone in the subway during my daily commute. I still don't understand how difficult can it be make make an application work offline. Even though you download the edition, it still crashes and tries to show the commercial and you lose where you are reading the article. You have just one job to do! Just do your job! No one cares your fancy tabs, buttons or pages. Just give me a break and make the legacy app usable. You have made such a terrible app
1 ★Hands down among the best current affairs news sources which is the only reason I continue to use this app. It is, has been, and continues to be among the worst functioning apps I have used and still choose to use. The fact I still bother with the app is a credit to how good of a product they put out. The app still inexplicably crashes and cannot recall where you left off with the audio (either starting with "Politics this Week" or some previously listened to article upon your return to the app) whether you downloaded the audio or not. Since it does not function, I cannot justify downloading the audio anyway. I was about to go for a walk with the dog when the app simply continues to refuse to load "Conspiracy as a second language" which spurred me to finally write a review. You never know while driving or walking when you will have to do battle with the app to reload it or get it on the right edition or right article. I have tried both versions of the app (the fact there are multiple versions is likely not a great sign) and know it has similar issues whether it is on Android of Apple devices. I have made certain the edition is current and reinstalled the application. With all that said, I love the magazine and the reporting. I will continue to subscribe, and I will continue to try using the app. I understand this sentiment makes the app's repair less likely, but c'est la vie.
