2 ★Has way too many video stories, too few written stories. You can't skim, must WATCH! Cannot listen to a story (I don't need to see the talking head) while skimming other headlines, because if a video scrolls off the screen, it stops playing. When I scroll back, I must start it over from the beginning, INCLUDING the initial ad. I can't tell you how many stories I watched the first 30 seconds of 3 times, but gave up before ever listening to the end. I now go elsewhere for news.
1 ★12042022: latest bug fix did not correct the constant spinning trying to load a clip. I tried to wait for a resolution, going to uninstall, shame -11232022:What happened to this app? Instead of approvements the updates degraded its functionality. Videos takes much too long to load. This never was the case before. Going to try other news apps. I hate to uninstall after using it for so long. Sorry.
1 ★Whoever CNN is using for their app and mobile content is really failing. You can barely read CNN articles in mobile browsers without ad content obscuring the text. So that makes their app a sure way to read their articles in entirety. Except recently when they're using graphics to display content, but haven't considered the mobile app can't display all the content on a single page, so the content gets cut off and there's no way to access it because scrolling only switches to the next graphic.
4 ★I love it! The only drawback to it is the fact that often ( half of the time, actually ) after looking at an article and attempting to go "back" it says "weak signal." That can't be the case because my signal strength indicators are at 5 bars & I'm actually in "5G UC" band mode. And I have two high end, high tech phones, so that's not possible. Please try to fix this issue. Thanks!
5 ★I'm a big fan of all things CNN, & the app is no different. One thing I really like is how easy it is to navigate--very user friendly. You can easily do a search within a seemingly endless amount of material, & everything is sorted out very well, & intuitively. I also like the combos of written news, video news stories, interviews, & how certain points are supported in several different ways & sources.
1 ★It's sad because it could be a great app but I don't think enough resources are put into it. The app continuously crashes, it tells you there is no internet connection and many other errors. The embedded video player is the worst, continuously crashing and getting a blank screen. It's the ONLY app that has those issues on my phone. It's terrible.
2 ★While it has a decent design, it suffers from instability issues. It should clearly indicate basic issues such as internet disconnected. Sometimes it crashes when connected to wifi. Other times it seems to just crash ungracefully when it's disconnected from the internet. This rating is strictly due to the instability of the app, not a judgement of the content.
2 ★I use CNN Go on my FireTV. But the app occasionally crashes, and it always seems to be when I'm in the middle of a show. This wouldn't be as infuriating if the app would have some way of keeping track of my progress in shows that I'm watching, like other TV apps. But it doesn't. So when the app crashes, I'm forced to start my show from the beginning. And fast-forward doesn't really help because I can only fast-forward through the program and not the ads.
1 ★CNN is a relic of the 90s, and they're not really fit for this time and place. Their journalism seems to be targeted more towards shaping public opinion than toward informing their audience. CNN isn't providing a service, they're simply giving the establishment viewpoint. (Although if you're consuming their content with a little awareness, I suppose that is a service of sorts.) As far as the app: it's buggy, video content skips, and the ads are too frequent and too intrusive. It feels like a throwback to the web 2.0 era. Much easier to consume CNNs content (such as it is) through another channel, such as youTube.
1 ★Poor functionality. Had to use this app since apparently I can't get the CNN Go app on my Samsung smart tv. This app sucks. First of all, there's no "queue", so if you leave a video, you have to start all over with it later (including finding the video you were watching). Also, there's no fast forward button, so you're left to use your finger to slide to find the right spot where you left off. Also, there's no indication in the app of whether you've already viewed something. I could go on.
3 ★I use to really like the CNN news. Not any more. Since this last "downgrade", it really sucks big time ! Now when you scroll down the screen, it's all jerky. And what's with all the extra ads ? I've enjoyed this app for years but am going to uninstall it after this feedback. The CNN app. people should just have left well enough alone. By all means, give it another downgrade !
2 ★Constant Tech Issues. App takes forever to simply open & load. Or it won't load at all. Everything is S-L-O-W. Every time I try to login with my cable provider, it closes that section before I can finish typing username & password. Can't watch live TV for more than 5 minutes w/o a cable provider login, sooo... 🤷♀️ The UI is super clunky. When I do manage to get a show to play, show stops playing before I'm halfway through. This app needs to be trashed and redesigned from bottom to top.
