2 ★Updated report - Free Version - 26.0.4...02 : Good App. provides many features all in one . The weather locations don't provide remove locations once selected or defult. The defult is random selection cities, Don't know what's that purpose . Weather radar doesn't work, and ALERTS ARE OBSCURED (Needs Developer improvements W/ better features )... News videos auto plays the next clip when scrolling and can't be deselected as one per click to view. This wastes data and , and is distracting .
1 ★Scammed! Microsoft rewards stated "1000 Rewards points after first 6 receipts" After scanning 6 receipts with the specified app I got 3 cents and 0 points. Just another identicle Bing app that pretends to be a browser best known turning each tab into another app so you don’t just have to close the tab when done, but also clean out all the duplicate Start apps from your recent apps. If you have Edge, just stick with that and don't fall for these other scam apps from Microsoft.
2 ★This receipt scanning app was awesome for a while, but after a recent update, there's a problem. When you try to scan receipts after submitting them, an error pops up. I checked other reviews dating back to mid-December, and it seems like the issue hasn't been fixed yet. It's crucial to get this sorted ASAP before people start uninstalling the app and giving up on it for good.
1 ★The updates are constant and half the time don't integrate well with the other Microsoft apps. I've reported a few issues already to no avail and often times the reports are not read correctly and given generic responses that point you in the wrong direction. Numerous functions have been broken or only work at random since the change from Bing to Microsoft branding as well and have been broken for quite some time. Regression testing would have been great, but doesn't appear to be done.
1 ★I only downloaded this for the "deals" section. Not sure what the point of the rest of the app is since it's basic stuff you could do with things that come pre-downloaded on a phone, but whatever. Anyways, the deals section barely works. Half the time you can't scan a receipt. I had a special gas deal not go through, put in a ticket, and never got a response back. I waited over a month. Just awful. Definitely not worth the few pennies you get back. There are definitely better apps for that.
1 ★Below average search intelligence, worsened by throttling points. Over the last several months, maybe even a year, I began using start & Bing search more & more because of a combination of average search results, but compensated by points that could be redeemed in the form of gift cards. With Microsoft's recent change of throttling points to every 15 minutes/3 searches, it's no longer worth it. Plus, it's no longer possible to even earn all the daily points because of this limit.
1 ★New update same issues. When trying to scroll articles if you swipe to the left or right to change articles, when the new article cycles through and you try to single press it it acts as if you swiped to the left or right changing the article again instead of opening it. Extremely irritating. Also for the rewards program you can only get 3 articles to register of the daily 10 cap (30 points 3x10) before you have to close the app and open it again for articles to continue to count.
3 ★Aug 23 update Video tab is now showing at the bottom. Replaced my news tab. Don't see any way to remove that. This change sucks. Don't want the video tab. ‐----------- The app is overall very good. One big annoyance is the small popup that shows up at the bottom, as the article is reaching the end. As the thumb is also at the bottom of the screen, scrolling, it almost always hits the popup, causing the next article to load, before the current article is finished reading. Please fix this.
1 ★I don't understand why there's this app and the bing app. Nearly identical but where the bing app is slow and has issues, this is faster and better. But where this app is show and has issues, bing is better. Just improve one and ax the other and I think you're good 👍 PS. The camera app to scan receipts is the absolute worst. Barely works at all just acts up nonstop to piss me off. News articles disappear and refresh themselves, and only 1 paragraph, if lucky appears to read then blank after. 🖕
1 ★I only downloaded this app for the weather, as the Windows weather app I use and like all the different functions. Was led to this from the PC app and it's NOTHING alike. Just a basic weather app stripped of any of the detailed info, it shouldn't even be advertised as a mobile version of the PC app. Back to Weather Underground for the phone I guess...
2 ★Microsoft needs to combine this with the Bing app, as there's simply too much feature crossover. Even worse is when this app recommends downloading the Bing app to search, even though this app can accomplish it. Even when the Bing app is installed, the URI association doesn't seem to work. Also, who thought it was a bright idea to incorporate SMS Organizer into a news app? Windows phone is dead; stop trying to create monolithic apps and embrace the modularity of app's intended goals.
1 ★Oh where to start. Some articles have one paragraph and when you scroll down there is just a blank screen. News stories constantly "refresh" and disappear after you tap them so you can't read. Swiping up too far toward the end of an article causes you to move to the next article with no way to go back and finish the article. After opening the app, news articles refresh three times before you can actually tap one, so don't get interested in a story before it has had to refresh itself a few times.
