How does the app work?
Whenever some unknown number calls the app checks it in its permanently updated database - immediately, without internet connection. If it finds out that other users reported the respective number as nuisance, it warns you against it. Or if you want it so, it can block it directly, the caller will not be able to reach you.
It is just the database used by the Should I Answer app which is an absolute unique part. It is composed directly by the users of the app: after each unknown call the users can rate it anonymously either as safe or spam. After approval given by our admins the report is then visible in the database where all users can benefit from.
What the app can do?
• It can protect you effectively against the unsolicited calls. You can set the level of protection exactly according to your needs: from simple alert of unsolicited call to direct blocking.
• It can block even hidden, foreign or premium rate numbers. Also you can write your own lists of blocked or allowed numbers.
• The app can be used as fully functional dialer app: you will find all your Contacts, favourite Contacts and complete call history in it.
• The app can protect you even offline. If you need to update the local database it waits for your wi-fi connection.

How does the app deal with your personal data?
Everything is happening directly in your phone, and in your phone only - your data is never by passed to some 3rd party. The app can’t „see“ even your own phone number, all reports are fully anonymous, the app doesn’t send even your Contacts anywhere.

5 ★Great app! I know people have jobs to do, but robocalls and spam drive me crazy! Thanks to 'Should I Answer?', it warns me of these annoying calls so I can keep my sanity. It works, it really works!
5 ★Blocking features are great. Uses a community database which other users can see when they receive a call from a particular caller. I never realized how useful this could be until I had it and used it. AWFUL: During a phone call, I cannot access phone features; unable to mute, control video, etc. Give me back control and I'll hand you a fifth star. :-) UPDATE: I made the recommended changes, and all is well. FIVE STARS!
2 ★Feb 17 2021 glad to donate if the app worked correctly but will not list recent or blocked calls . ????? Only list calls from 3 weeks before ??? Restarted many times. No luck. Blocks calls but sometimes blocks calls that are in contacts that you want to go thru and all calls list that show recent calls never is correct 2 weeks behind or not listed ?? Still blocks calls but does not list recent calls always 2 weeks behind on listing recent calls ❓❓❓❓ even restarted my phone many times
5 ★This app has definitely done it's job in blocking calls from numbers that aren't in my contacts list as if I'm in airplane mode, while still allowing answer machine messages. For a free app, it's highly adaptable to the level of cover you want, and gives you information about numbers if they're unknown. I really recommend this app to people who want to dodge scammers who are really working overtime during the pandemic. It's just saves a lot of time and potential worry.
4 ★This has thus far been working in my favor. It catches all my calls that are not in my contacts...hip hip hooray!!!! It is worth the few dollars to keep away those annoying and pesty solicitors and I'm on a fixed income and I'm willing to support this app. Please keep improving don't let we the consumers down that's a sure way of losing money. 1 ★I gave r stars as Google does the same thing,so will have to take some time to see if this is better,but I always search by numbers I don't know on Google,with this,but I received alot of spam calls with mobile numbers,and it's always Indian people pretending to be police or bank,I don't know if this will block them calls.edit,deleting as Google call app does exactly the same thing.so not wasting memory or ram on this
5 ★Best app ever for blocking unwanted spam callers. The app is easy to navigate and I no longer receive spam calls, plus NO annoying adds. It's been an absolute blessing! All incoming calls - not in my contact's list - are automatically blocked and I get a notification. If a caller isn't a scammer/telemarketer, they'd usually leave a voicemail message if and when they can't get through due to the call being blocked. Definitely worth downloading for peace of mind.

I already wrote a 5-star review but I am bringing it up to date after the developer kindly told me how to turn off the annoying constant reminders to write a review 😀. Now there is no negative point and you should not hesitate to install and use the app as your default phone app. BRAVO!!
5 ★Works pretty well. Lately I've been getting a lot of spam calls that aren't rated yet. Guess they're switching up to use random numbers. This is a group effort. If you get a spam call that hasn't been marked as spam yet, please mark it as spam! It has blocked many spammers since I started using it. Better than nothing!
3 ★There are some people who get through but overall I am thankful for this app. I highly recommend it! I have been getting messages from a scammer and I came to the decision that I would have fun. When to contact this company to talk to them about it. They don't have a way for me to contact them without a hassle. And this app is the same way. Use caution
