Description
The MVV-App is a journey planning application created by the Munich transport association (Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund, MVV). It is both free of charge and without advertising.It provides travel information for the entire public transport network in Munich and the surrounding regions (districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Miesbach, München, Rosenehim, Starnberg as well as the city of Rosenheim) – no matter whether you go by train, (sub)urban railways, underground, tram or bus. In many cases with real-time information. With the MVV-App you can also purchase selected MVV tickets with your smartphone or tablet on the go. Register once and you have the option to either buy the single trip tickets or you can choose to buy one of our day tickets for your stay in Munich. Besides, the MVV-App provides additional information on public transport in the entire Greater Munich Area, such as public transport and tariff maps as well as any changes in the timetables.

• Departures: The departure monitor indicates the next departures and/or arrivals from a stop or the stops in the neighborhood of your current location in real-time (where available).
• Trips: The journey planner will help you to find the quickest route from A to B – in many cases with real-time information. Just enter the name of a stop, a point of interest or any desired address in Munich or the surrounding districts as your starting point or destination. With GPS you can also use your current location. The results include all footpath directions. The MVV-App also helps you buy the correct ticket for the selected journey. With just a few clicks you can purchase mobile tickets directly from the journey planner.
• Disruptions: At a glance, you can see disruptions that might affect your daily commute ordered by lines and their operation names. As yet, the descriptions of timetable changes are only available in German.
• Tickets: With menu item “Tickets” you can purchase selected MVV tickets as mobile ticket. Register once within one of the listed shops (identical range of tickets) and choose your ticket before starting your journey. You can pay for your tickets by using Google Pay, a credit card or direct debit. As electronic tickets are personalized, you have to bring your official photo ID.
• Network plans: In addition, the MVV-App provides you with various public transport network plans and tariff maps. Although most of the plans are in German language, you can find several plans in English, too. For example: the general plan of the regional train, suburban train and underground in the entire MVV area.
• Interactive map: The interactive map does not just help you to come along in the MVV area. You get access to further information such as nearby departures by using your GPS signal for example.
• Settings: If you choose the appropriate settings, you can for example avoid stairs during your trip or prefer less walking time over the quickest connection. In case you take a bike with you, the journey planner is able to take this into account too. You can also exclude connections not being integrated within the MVV tariff.

5 ★Great app and great customer service, I use this app daily. After an android update to the latest software the app kept displaying a message saying wrong device identifier when I type in a location to try and buy a ticket. An email to customer service solved the problem, all it took was logging out and logging back in again. Thanks for the help!
4 ★Hello MVV. Thanks for you work! I have few problems and feature-requests (ofc if it's possible to do). First of all, forced clearing of "From"/"To" fields is really bad. Please, disable it. I understand that it needs some efforts from programmer's side but it would be so nice to not re-enter 2 fields every time I need to change my route. That would be really nice to save "Current location" in routes selection. So that user could just select saved route from "Current location" to any particular destination. For instance, I want to find route to my work and often I come there from different places.
4 ★A quite good and convenient app. Only the UI is a bit confusing: when I select trip and see the trip options there is already a some price on the right of each option that is kind misleading. I have stripe tickets usually and such price is really unnecessary. Also this "Additional information is available!" is annoying. Just make this screen clean: transport route, time and basket button to purchase ticket. That's it!
1 ★"Bought" a short trip ticket, 2min before ubahn, process of buying went through. After few minutes I was automatically logged out by the app and when entering my data again I had to reset my password. On the request to change my password, which I could not remember previously, mail confirmation for password came 20 minutes after. And guess, on next stop I have received a fine, no data and no option to login. Inpsection does not care if online service is slow or it has some issues. Never again!
1 ★Probably the worst transport app. It takes 5min to make a complex travel plan, one click to delete the whole thing. Buying tickets:I made an account two years ago, password recovery doesn't work.To receive the account activation email for a new registration, one has to wait 20min! Someone must have hand typed it. I have a virtual credit card, and couldn't copy the number (app doesn't allow paste) I had to switch back and forth between apps to type it. Use it only if u have 40min to buy a ticket.
1 ★Not able to add card says 3D authentication failed, even though I have entered correct details. Same thing happened with my friend.
2 ★Very inconvenient... spent last 30 minutes trying to buy ticket for s-bahn. Thought mobile app will be simple, but machine on the platform is lot faster. After filling 50 details in my profile got stuck on adding payment method. Not possible to add Visa or MasterCard... very bad. Not to mention that activation email obviously has a bug. Only message it says is: "email_special_account_confirmation"

1 ★I gave this app 1 star as a rate... This star specialy to S-Bahn Munich (cuz they'r super mess). The trips time on the app always wrong. When a trip been cancelled or delayed (as every **** time) they don't update it on the app. So you keep spending one hour waiting in the open air s-bahn stations in vain. This **** happening every single day. Shame on you DB. At least update the schedule on the app so we can arrange our time according to the app you providing :(
1 ★Tried to buy a ticket. Thought I had one. Seems to be not have been valid. Got fined with 60 EUR. UX is just a nightmare. I have a PhD in computer science and still could not figure out how to have a valid "Streifenkarte". Well, back to paper. Stop fooling around with e-Golfs and spend some money on an UX expert. But I guess US transportation is there hero and they are trying to copy it.
2 ★There is an issue with the newer version I guess, the UI has changed, and every component are extremely large, not friendly to use. It's slower then the earlier version The most important, the search has been degraded or changed. For e.g when you type 'dal' I expect that it shows Munich locations first and then the rest but it shows erdings location.
1 ★The app is disappointing. It always auto log out & when try to re-login there is always 'Server Error'. After that ticket cant be open and ask to transfer from 'another device' though I only use 1 device thru out and yet another failure as the 'transfer' always failed with error message. Somehow conductors check more frequently since the app severe failure started and causing me to be fined 60EUR twice! Went the MVV counter, though is MVV own app fault ; I still need to pay 7EUR fine each!
