Het laatste is een techniek waarbij, kijkend met het scherm van de smartphone naar de omgeving, er een extra laagje of beeld op het beeldscherm wordt geprojecteerd. Met de VLAR-app kun je bijvoorbeeld op de Markt bij de Grote kerk ook de toren op je beeldscherm zien die er vroeger stond. Daarnaast kun je de havenkraan bij het museum in werking zien, een kijkje nemen in het museum zoals het eruit ziet als het verbouwd is en nog veel meer. De komende maanden komen er allerlei updates voor de app met nieuwe mogelijkheden en veel meer informatie over wat er in Vlaardingen allemaal te zien en te doen is, tot en met winkelen toe."
