The WMKA Location Tracker is a Home Screen Widget for Personal Security and Peace of Mind Safety, the widget does not tell you where your lost phone is or live track the phone.This widget is designed to inform others like family and friends from a specific list, where you are, ONLY when you want them to Know!!!
It does not give your position out to anyone else at any other time.
This is a Home Screen Widget for personal security and you must add the widget to your home screen to use it!
If you are a parent that finds it a worry, wondering where your kids are (or even your elderly parents) and although they have use of mobile Smart Phones the usual reply you get to the question;
“Where have you been?” and “couldn't you let me know where you were?”
Would be
“Well I didn't know where I was!” and “I didn't have time to send a text… “
Yeah, right!
Or maybe you are someone who likes to know where you are and keep a record of where you have been without having to make notes or fiddle around with other GPS mapping and navigation software
Or even someone who may feel safer being out and about knowing you have an app that will tell nearest and dearest where you are if you find yourself in trouble…
You or your kids don’t have to do a lot to make it work!!!
At the press of a button, the software will use the phones GPS & Cell Towers and work out where it is (reverse Geo-Code the coordinates) and depending on the button pressed it will either send an email or an email and an SMS Text message to whoever is listed in the relevant WMKA Location Tracker contact lists along with a little message…
Of course, WMKA Location Tracker doesn't need to send any messages if you don't want it to, just leave the lists blank and the widget will just tell you the approximate address.
If you are in a location with no address then WMKA Location Tracker Widget will still send Latitude and longitude coordinates that can be used in GPS devices.
NEW: you can now select email addresses or mobile phone number from your contacts lists, just to make things a little easier...
Important.
WMKA Location Tracker can cost you money, whilst I do not charge a reoccurring subscription nor do I charge or use premium rate services, the Panic feature of the software will send standard SMS text messages to each mobile number listed in your panic activation list.
This means, if you have 3 numbers in the Panic Activation List, your Mobile Operator/Network will charge you for 3 outgoing Text Messages each time you press the panic button!
This application/Widget requires an Internet Connection.
Wi-Fi will return a result faster than Mobile only connection!
This Android Home Screen Widget requires temporary access to your GPS module. (The widget only
uses the GPS when required) Some GPS modules work better than others and some may get a fix
whilst indoors, others will not.
Your position is approximate from 5 to about 50 meters; this means the address returned may be a
neighboring address!
Privacy.
Your privacy is very important to us and WMKA Location Tracker keeps its own list of emails and mobile numbers.
This list is NOT shared or given to anyone else, it's completely private. When you use the widget only those in your lists will be informed of your location, this information is NOT given or sold to any third parties!
This app and widget is NOT a social networking application.
