El término "Enri" fue acuñado por Mario Luis Benítez Arboleda, inspirándose en la semejanza del nombre de su abuela, María Concepción Andrade Mosquera , quien nació y murió en Condoto, Chocó, Colombia, mujer que se dedicó su vida entera a la minería artesanal; lo más grande y representativo para Mario.
"Enri Messenger", no tiene como propósito sustituir ningún otro tipo de mensajería instantánea; se convierte en un método alternativo con opciones o estrategias que se pueden utilizar para facilitar la comunicación entre la comunidad de habla hispana y el Mundo.
