Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

2 ★Cuts out constantly, especially, it seems, during crucial moments of interviews. It will cut out, reload, force me to listen to an ad, then rejoin the broadcast after much has been missed. Very frustrating.
1 ★Constant Crashes. I can't listen to more than a few minutes before the app just stops playing.
1 ★I tried to use this app to stay in sync with the radio while I'm out of my car to office or when a friend would call to say there's something to hear on GBH. The app plays ads more than anything else and is completely off the live broadcast. I lose connection or pause the app for a second and I'm back to square one, forced to listen to a list of ads and the program resents to beginning. In live news I basically lose "what is important". GBH's "what's important to you" is apparently the ads...
1 ★You may need to set this app to "never sleep" in your phone's settings, otherwise the stream may stop when your phone screen is turned off. Also, ads play way too often. First tuning in? Ad. Stream gets a little bit behind for some reason (maybe you took a call)? Ad. Switch from WiFi to cellular data? Ad. I'll update the review to 5 stars as soon as they fix this issue.
2 ★App seems to do the same thing playing podcasts as it used to playing live radio: podcast stops playback and all exits as soon as phonecs display goes to sleep.
2 ★Playing an ad on launch is a bad user experience. I don't have that problem when I turn on the radio in my car. This happens incessantly if you're at the edge of WiFi range as the phone switches between 5g and WiFi. There's no scrubbing or rewind. It's a shame this app has been left to languish. The WBUR app is marginally better so I usually use that, but it has its own problems. A few common sense improvements to this GBH app would make it my preferred choice.
1 ★Broken app. Plays for a bit, then stops. Simply not usable.
3 ★App cuts out every few minutes, very frustrating. Tap stop, then play, it starts up with a pitch for the station, sometimes also with an ad. Almost like the app is stopped so they can pitch an ad when it starts up again.
4 ★The app works well, when it does not frequently crash at times as highlighted by my Android!
1 ★It stops every few minutes on all our devices, no matter what I do. We have no problems with other radio/podcast/music aps. Very annoying.
