Description
臺中放送局即於昭和10年(西元1935)5月11日正式啟用，為臺灣總督府繼北部臺北放送局、南部臺南放送局後，特別設立之中部臺中放送局，為第三所重要廣播建築。這座放送局在「報導、教化、娛樂」的三大方針下，進行廣播節目的放送，臺灣光復後，臺中放送局被國民政府接收，自1925年-1998年中廣臺中臺搬遷為止，臺中放送局一直是中部地區重要的廣播臺。臺中放送局於民國九十一年七月一日經臺中市文化局登錄為歷史建築，在建築藝術風格上，以「仿羅馬風格」與「簡化哥德風格」之裝飾元素點綴立面，為臺灣建築邁向現代主義之過渡作品。2015年@STUDIO進駐臺中放送局的營運，期待藉由創意讓歷史建築「臺中放送局」的古蹟文化再度崛起，展現臺中在地特有的文化內涵，並規劃一系列動態與靜態兼顧的活動或展覽內容，讓大家看見臺中文化的起源，用歷史建築來述說屬於我們所擁有的文化故事、用各式展覽取代對話，讓更多人參與和回憶這些歷史的軌跡與故事。同時從歷史意義延伸推廣放送局的初衷，將文化結合創意，串連起在臺中的文創據點，讓文化、藝術、影像、廣電、傳播、流行等完整呈現，創造放送局成為中臺灣重要文化創意的放送基地及新的旅遊景點。
