De VolumeTracker app is onderdeel van het onderzoek van Stichting VeiligheidNL en het Erasmus MC naar het muziekluistergedrag van middelbare scholieren. De app meet gedurende 35 dagen hoe vaak, hoe lang en hoe hard deelnemers luisteren met oortjes of een koptelefoon.Iedere week ontvangen de deelnemers een melding om een aantal vragen te beantwoorden. Bijvoorbeeld of ze in het weekend naar een feest zijn geweest. Door het invullen van de vragenlijsten verdienen ze punten. Aan het einde van het onderzoek volgt een laatste vragenlijst. Als de deelnemers voldoende punten hebben verzameld, kunnen ze deze verzilveren voor een cadeaubon.
