1 ★(Idk if this is just me, but I remember youtube doing this before) everyone tends to get 2 ads at a time and I'm no different, only on my phone I can't skip both at once and on my computer I can. It seems a bit redundant to make one platform have to sit through 2 ads but the other is how it's been for years and there's ALREADY too many ads, why would I want to have to skip twice as much? I'm almost ready to uninstall it and use my computer(until they change THAT too much too at least)
2 ★It's just YouTube, however if you want to leave a comment on a video, be prepared for your keyboard to freeze for a while. Near impossible to leave a comment. This has been a problem for over a year and every update I get excited because maybe they fixed it! Nope. Wouldn't mind to just straight up not be able to leave a comment, but freezing my keyboard and block half my screen even outside the app? A competent team would fix that THE DAY OF only 10 years ago.
1 ★It's really annoying that while playing my downloaded songs, the audio starts skipping and cutting in and out until the app stops responding and force closes. What is the point of downloading videos if I can't play them without the app crashing. This is ridiculous. Shouldn't have to pay for something that is barely functional. The price has been increasing while functionality fades. And it's only with my downloaded videos, if I am just streaming videos it is fine.
1 ★My autoplay feature has stopped working. Even though I have it toggled to "on", videos just stop instead of playing the next one. PIP mode (edit: *still*) broken. Many times a day while watching a video, the picture-in-picture thing goes black and I can't get rid of it until I restart my phone, and if I go back into the YouTube app while this is happening, I can't even close the app or do anything on my screen until I restart my phone.
1 ★Does this app have a lot of ads? Yes. Does this app stay focused on the picture you are viewing? Nope. More out then showing most of the time. Do you have Internet connection? Yes. Is this app reliable for doing the performance that it's supposed to do? Most of the time it hestitates on all videos showing. To many interrupting ads that doesn't make the YouTube channel any better. This is what causes the rating to not get any better because of the problem and performance that its not putting good
1 ★YouTube is censoring news outlets in the lead up to the 2024 Presidential Election. We call that election interference. Swipe down takes you out of full screen even though that's the same gesture you use to check the time, etc on your phone/tablet. Some ads take you out of full screen and fails to go back to full screen after the ad finishes. No longer recommends video's to me on my home feed. You don't need to keep track of my history to recommend video's. Pure "geniuses" work on this app.
4 ★No way to block users/channels or recommendations. Library tab, which can't be active at startup, rearranges itself. Resuming video from another device doesn't remember which playlist. App often doesn't resume from last watched position, while the website does without problem. No customizable Bluetooth controls (eg I should be able to set fast-forward to skip ahead 30 sec).
5 ★Thank you for bringing back portrait pull down full screen. Can you make it an OPTION when holding your finger down on the screen between fast forwarding, or what it used to be with the precise forward or rewind motion. That was awesome. Easy scrolling controls. Double taping for 10 secs be too far & "slides" option is not as good as the precise forward or rewind.
1 ★Always something wrong. The sound is usually bugged out on my tvs, sometimes the ads are longer than the video I clicked on, and the algorithm constantly feed me garbage. One time I played a video to help me go to sleep, then an ad popped up and it was more than 15 minutes long. Sometimes the ads aren't even ads, they are other videos. You might ask why I don't pay for a subscription? Because it's constantly got problems...demonitization is also ruining youtube.
4 ★Sometimes the Picture-in-Picture feature gets stuck & can't be interacted. I can force close it by going into the app permissions, but it's a temporary fix, forcing me to restart the phone to get it working again until the next time it bugs out. Also, the overall feel of the app feels clunky. Probably the price for the sleek modern look.
1 ★The whole thing could be done better. I hate how they've updated again. I wish it would show results for I what I searched instead of what the algorithm is recommending- I've had that happen far too many times. Also double ads constantly, fills videos with ads and it's just sucky. Plus you can only skip one at a time now too. Besides all of that the app constantly crashes.
1 ★There's a bug that affects scrolling playlists. Infinite loading circle while scrolling down. As a browser user who uses ad blocks, it makes getting around impossible. Now I have to use Chrome or the app. I hate the app. It's merciless with ads! Chrome doesn't personalize your experience like Mozilla does, so it sucks. This just happened today. Fix pls. Thank you.
